In the same way that Gilksey has come back to work with the Academy I really hope that RFC can find a place for Jobi in the future.

Lovely bloke, great player but in all honesty probably time to move on now - but will always be welcomed back.

Matured into quite a different, and more important, player for us than he was for Palace & Wimbledon (and whoever else). Real shame to see him go.

Fcuking furious at this. Sell Pog and Drenthe and give Jobi a new contract!

Ian Royal Legend. Probably the best left winger at the club since I've been watching. Great attitude. Calm, dignified and always put a shift in, even when it wasn't going his way.

Good luck Jobi, you deserve to wow more Chumpionship fans yet. Glad you got your day in the PL with us and certainly didn't show yourself up.

Love the way Jobi forced Alex Fergeuson sub one of the Fabio brothers as Jobi was roasting him mid way through the first half v Man U.

I agree with your sentiments but sorry you never saw Michael Gilkes play - still RFC's best ever left winger.

His plans were to go into working as an agent helping younger players deal with the perils of big money moves etc iirc, rather than going into coaching or management.

Saw Gilkesy play on plenty of occasions Haag, though not at his best.

Sorry to hear he's gone. One of the better players in recent years.

Shame. He would be a huge asset to RFC's academy. Fair play to him though as he doesn't seem to have a bad bone in his body.

Had a feeling he was off looking at his face during the lap on Saturday.

Cheers Jobi - proper legend

+1 to the McAnuff appreciation.

Probably my favourite player over the last few years and one who's a credit to himself and his profession for the way he went about his business.

It's a shame he's not been given a new deal but at 32, and one of our higher wages, it was on the cards.

Pepe the Horseman Sad news that Jobi's being released. A better captain and player than Murty, yet always got a lot of stick from a section of our fans.

My fav moments include:

That goal at Cardiff.
Nearly scoring the greatest FA Cup goal of all time at Anfield.
Calling Handbags Harris a oxf*rd.

Disagree on both of those counts-IMHO Murty was a far better player and captain but that is not to denigrate how Jobi played for us for which he was presumably well paid.
No reason for feeling sad because, as Ian said, he has already established a career as an agent.
It is always sad to see players leave who have been around for a few years and have done o.k for us but at last the club is realising (far too late) that contracts should not be given so readily to players over 30 as they can only get worse and more injury-prone.

Gutted he's gone, great captain, model pro and always gave his all for the team.

Loved the look on his face when he nearly scored at Anfield after that great run, you could see how much it meant to him.

Such a shame to see one of the best players RFC has had in the last 20 years leave like this.

Those who criticised him will realise just what he brought to the team and the club as a whole when the likes of Taylor and the fat f[u]cking Dutchman are stumbling into the opposition full back next season.

My favourite thing was having a club captain who seems to be a really good guy.

A tireless worker and an exemplary professional. Thanks Jobi.

Great club servant, good player on his day, always put in effort even when he was having a mare. Well done Jobi and good luck in the future.

Disappointed to see him go, a good player at this level. I will be worried if he lines up against us next season !
