JC According to Neil Lennon our goal was from a deflected pass and was a scuffed shot. The ref was a disgrace and their substitutions were all as a result of fouls from us. i assume that includes the pulled hamstring - clever trick that

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31729004 :!:

Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon criticised "appalling" referee Mark Haywood in their 1-1 draw with Reading.
First-half injuries to Zach Clough, Kevin McNaughton and David Wheater forced the Trotters into early changes.
"I can't speak highly enough of the players but I have to be careful what I say about the referee," Lennon said.
"He was absolutely appalling. There was no protection of our players tonight. Some of it turned into a wrestling match, he was so inconsistent."

Eidur Gudjohnsen had fired Bolton ahead in Tuesday's game but the hosts conceded a stoppage-time equaliser from Jamie Mackie.
Haywood showed three yellow cards during the match.

Bolton top scorer Zach Clough was taken off with a suspected dislocated shoulder
"Kevin McNaughton gets booted in front of the linesman who doesn't see it - how he can't see it I don't know," the former Celtic boss, 43, told BBC Radio Manchester.
"Zach Clough has dislocated his shoulder because he got booted from behind and the referee has waved play on."
The point keeps Bolton 10 points above the Championship relegation places with a growing injury list.
"It's none in and three out, it's ridiculous," Lennon said.
"We're hanging by a threat at the minute in terms of players so we might have to move into the transfer market and try and get some loans in, but I can only use five at a time.
"We were brilliant for the rest of the game. They got a lucky goal, there was a massive deflection on the pass and I think he scuffed the shot in - but we have to be tighter and have more concentration."

Enjoying the stat that Zach Clough is Bolton's top scorer this season, despite having made only 10 appearances.

I think the deflection Lennon is referring to is actually a flick on by Cox :?: and a good finish by Mackie. Doesn't surprise me the manager of Bolton wouldn't know what a decent goal looks like.

To be fair every goal should be judged by a panel of independent judges and awarded marks for style and flair. Anything less than a 7 shouldn't count.

Actually Lennon sounds like he might be a HNA poster.

Did you know that Bolton have spent a total of 38 days at the top of the Premier League. 5 more than Spurs.

Pepe the Horseman Watching their goal again. Shocking defending from Pearce. Completely outfought and outmuscled by Alfie.

Well Alfie is six-two and fifteen stone

You're thinking of Eidur Gudjohnsen - Alfie is an ex-Reading striker who is 11st and 5ft 8in

Do I whoosh you here, or are you whooshing me?

Haven't seen the goal. Knew Af didn't score it. Presumed Alf out-muscled Pearce and fed Guj

So what does he say when NOT being careful?

secks "Kevin McNaughton gets booted in front of the linesman..."
"Zach Clough has dislocated his shoulder because he got booted from behind..."

Takes me back to my school days, not heard the word "booted" in this context for years.

Not quite outmuscled. Pearce should have put it in the stands, but dawdled on it and ALF nicked in. All came from a long ball into the channel. Dreadful defending.

Bradford Saturday? Is that their full name, like Sheffield Wednesday?

Hector and Cooper as our CBS next season please. Don't care where Pearce goes as long as its not the matchday squad.

To answer your question. He says this (of the same ref):

'They should have changed the referee at half-time. Someone from the crowd would have been better.' I think he then stated that someone from the crowd would also have kept up with play more!

Methinks he's going to be called to explain himself!

Out of interest, what are the respective positions of the two clubs in the Fair Play table?

I thought we were supposed to be soft southerners!

I didn't see the McNaughton challenge but Wheater just pulled up with a hamstring injury and the Zach Clough one looked pretty inocuous, it was his awkward fall where the damage happened, just a freak injury.

Lennon appeared to have some sort of breakdown on the touch line when he heard about the seriousness of the Clough injury.

I'm not Pogs biggest fan but I thought he played quite well last night, good control, movement and physical presence. I thought we actually passed the ball around well in patches and the substitutions worked against us, I can understand why SC made them, but we looked better with "proper" wingers rather than shifting Mackie over and Blackman coming on.

Not getting the Pearce hate either, thought he looked solid. Bolton are bang average and we controlled the midfield in the first half. The injuries fired Bolton up a bit in the second half but other than Gudjohnson they lack a bit of experience and guile. Thought overall a draw was fair and would have been rough on us not to have got a point out of it.

Love the way that Cox can be seen questioning the ref at FT as to whether he has added enough time. After we had snatched an equaliser at the death, Cox clearly thought we could go on to steal the win!

Reading are the 6th worst offender and Bolton 8th.

77 yellows and 1 red in 41 games plays 69 yellows and 2 reds in 41 games.

Mills must be getting away with murder this season then. That or the rest of the team are incredibly fair and he's picking up most their cards.

Not sure if Cox, Mackie and Gunter had been getting a load of grief from Bolton fans in the lower tier of the main stand but they were giving it plenty to them as the players went off down the tunnel at the end too.

RFCUK Robson Kanu 5 - did nothing, literally nothing

So why give him 5? Why not 0 - or 1 for putting his shirt on the right way round? (I'm assuming he did...?)

Hal has been my biggest disappointment last season and this.

After those Premiership goals scored at a goal every 182 minutes
I thought he'd be IMMENSE in the Championship.
