My only concern with us being linked with a left sided attacker is that GMac could be off, which would be a massive oxf*rd kick in the balls.

Wouldn't our interest in a left sided attacker be more likely to suggest HRK is on the way out?
GMac plays on the right.

RL - £4m and not have to replace the player until the summer whilst also freeing up funds to potentially use to make another loan signing (Vydra) permanent is a bloody good deal.

Yeah but we've not been playing Hector anyway and if he wants to leave, will he bother putting himself out if we did play him.

He's a professional player so yes. Breaking into the Chelsea team would be his aim - and he is unlikely to ever acheive that by being half-arsed in his performances.

But he has been playing and is an important member of the squad, even if he's not in the starting eleven every week.

If we have managed to get £4m for him and have him back on loan for the season then it's a great deal.

Exactly what Chelsea want with Hector I don't know. He'll be 24 by the time he goes back there if the reports are true. Is it just another bit of internal politics from Jose? Are they just doing Clarke a favour?

SCIAG I do have a problem when we play another club's young players ahead of our own without seeing any benefit on the pitch. Chalobah ahead of Kuhl (or even Norwood), Afobe ahead of Samuel, potentially Piazon ahead of Fosu/Tanner/Stacey and Alex ahead of Tshibola.

I agree with the sentiment but Piazon should be a significant improvement on the team surely?
