Erm.....Blackman's had a good start...that's all. Fair play to him and all that, but if he think's he's Jamie Cureton then he can do one.

But we're not even in a similar situation. Cureton left us 12 (gulp!) years ago. That's a Millennium in madness terms of players contracts. An average player only needs a hot streak and a new contract gets waved in their face - or their adviser decided that a move is more financially viable (he'll probably get a seven figure signing on fee if he scores 20 goals this season)

He would certainly go up in my estimations if he did sign but I'd be amazed if he did.

As Nick's agent I can exclusively reveal that he and the club are keen to do a deal. These things are complicated and there are many things to negotiate, like release fees, promotion pay rises etc. But I have every confidence a deal will be struck on at least a two year contract and it'll be finalised some time between 15 November 2015 and 15 February 2016.

I realise this is quite a large window, but I'm sure you appreciate it's early days.

Thank you.

Sorry Winston.

I would imagine that if he keeps scoring in every game that it is possible we could sell him in January to a lesser PL side.

Of course if we are in the top 2 we would keep him for the season whatever, and if we then went up he would no doubt sign a bumper deal. Just hope hes not learnt from HRK just to play well in your final contracted year.

But if we are not set for promotion then I wouldn't be surprised if we were forced to cash in. There is nothing about his all round game to suggest he couldn't make it in the PL and if he is on 20 league goals with 6 months left on his contract then it would probably be inevitable that a relegation threatened desperate PL club would want him and that we we would have to accept a sizeable fee. That would be ironic given we bought him as a much younger less polished version to rescue us in exactly that situation!

I'm not sure what "set for promotion" means?

Any team that has an outside chance of the playoffs come the final day, which is normally a few, have just as cause for being "set for promotion" as any team that occupied a playoff spot for most of the year, as we found out in 13/14.

I don't think we'd have to accept anything, we might because we'd want to, but we certainly aren't in a position where we'd have to. I'd also argue that a club willing to match our record signing and spend £2.5 million for a loan, would probably gamble on running his down his contract and hope his goals get us promotion rather than cash out for a minimal fee and risk derailing our season.
