Bart7 I am also a bit worried about the strength of this division next year also. Norwich and Villa will improve after a season in the Championship and will strengthen there squads accordingly with the Parachute Payments they are receiving. Also you are getting two team that know how to get out of this division in Boro and Hull. You also have Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday ready to challenge again and I can see both them teams being back financially to make a run at the top 6.
So my questions is will Stam have enough backing to break into that top six or top two?

Villa spent serious money on Hogan and look where that got them.
Money is great - if you spend it wisely. Scouting the right players in the right places is far more important.

Ian Royal Key to the way we play is moving he ball with an abrupt change of pace and purpose, combined with stretching the pitch with movement.
Kelly is very good at this. He should be one of the first names on the team sheet next season. Swift ought to have been good at this, but is pushed off the ball too much and overcomplicates things.
If we play wing backs, we need players who are willing and capable of taking on their man. Obita can do it. Gunter can't. Blackett can't. As usual I want to see Gunter out, with a replacement to compete with Watson and someone to challenge Obita.
Centre back is fine with McShane, Moore, Ilori and Blackett plus Dickie and Berg.
We really need to decide if we're playing with wingers,
wide forwards or wing backs. I don't think we can afford to keep our options open with all of them. It's too many players not contributing enough.
Striker is key, though I still have hope for Meite.
With decent replacements and depending on style we could comfortably lose Williams, Gunter, McCleary, Swift and Beerens of our bigger names. We won't though.

A bit like Nick Blackman for us then before Derby signed him.Winston Biscuit Wood has played for 9 (NINE) clubs in the UK, and only this season did he look even half decent.

+1 Although I see Kermorgant as a number 10 with no pacey no 9 playing alongside. It's like Butler and Cureton without Cureton.alfie9 RFC shopping list:
No. 9 that can play Kermorgant's role in his absence
No. 10 cover
Williams re-signing/Williams replacement
Fullback cover, one player capable of playing both sides will do

I also feel that any rebuilding should be based on having an effective plan B in terms of formation and tactics that we can switch to when required, If we could switch it up it will make us harder to neutralise.

We had very clear alternate formations which we played at different times. Not necessarily easily switched mi-game maybe. They all followed the same ethos, but that's unsurprising.
Sticking a big lump upfront and punting long after playing a passing game isn't having a plan B it's panicking when plan A doesn't work, for example.
We just need a bit more flair and ambition in our attack.
