Agree that where and when the draw is made makes no odds. It'll be on a website when we wake up.
Having the FA cup draw on TV at 5 pm on Saturday after each round is a tradition that should not be changed but who cares about the league cup draw....

Only in the recent past. I remember it being after the wrestling and before Dad's Army. Of course it might have been done differently in other households. Did you live up North perhaps ?

FA Cup 3rd round draw used to be live on Sports Report on the radio on a Saturday just after 5pm in the seventies and I think a couple of times Grandstand actually might have covered it "live" in early eighties.

It used to be a real highlight of the season, just like the actual day itself when you used to hope for a cold crisp but sunny day to watch your team rough up some bunch of posers you only ever saw on Match of the Day (or The Big Match or whatever local ITV offering was to be had on a Sunday afternoon). Funny thing was all teams actually fielded as near full strength line ups as possible whether they were playing Liverpool, ManU, Arsenal or Bognor Regis

Don't think the draw got shunted to a Monday lunchtime until late 80s and now, of course, it gets it's own snazzy showbiz profile on a Monday evening.

As to the Swansea game, well it's a shame Gylfi left for Everton. He must regret that decision now.

As Gylfi said in his interview after signing at Goodson he considers his spells at Hoffenheim, Spurs and Swansea as merely 'loans' and Everton is no different. He is going to come home at sometime.
