Well, it's an opinion. Many opinions in football are biased, it's inevitable.

What makes a team great? Often it's the opposition that makes a team great. If you have weaker opposition you'd look amazing. So, you'd have to consider a lot of things in order to determine what a great team is. Seeing as how no one is going to bother with that, then you go with emotional stuff.

We had 3 or 4 good strikers that season too. Can you name a Wolves forward (Afobe is a loanee so doesn't count in my opinion)?

A colleague of mine at work is a STH and says Neves is brilliant - best player he's ever seen at this level. Other than that they've been very solid at the back (Boly looks a real beast) and have had almost no injuries all season either. Having a consistent team (as we did in 05/06) is a massive help to achieving great results.

It depends how far back you go. If you are limiting it to an era when the 2nd tier was known as "the championship" then almost certainly.

Going back further though, you have Brian Clough turning a mediocre Forest team into one that would get promoted and win the league title the year after, and the European Cup the year after that, without having a big transfer budget.

Some morons were. Anyone with a modicum of sense could see they were a fairly average team with a few star players who would occasionally not turn up and aren't even in the top 5 Championship teams in the last decade.

In fairness, they were racking up the points and were on course to beat it at one stage. Maintaining that pace over the full 46 games is difficult though.

Also, being worried that they might have broken the record isn't the same as believing they would, or even that they were likely too.
