Millsy Not sure why we're playing any attackers in this game.

IIRC at Watford we are entitled to free goals I think because we represent the Royal County.

Stuart Atwell early on in his career.
Just like Tory MPs he apologised for THAT goal so he ended up being an elite level ref in the Premier League. :o

URZZZZ
Snowflake Royal Bah, URZZZ team includes Rahman so no thanks.

Whoscored thinks Watford struggle to defend the flanks, but are good at attacking down them and play one up top. So if we play the normal back 5 it's likely they'll pin our wingbacks, and leave our CBs marking one player while they overrun our midfield and force us deep leaving no outlet.

So

.....................Lumley
Yiadom, Holmes, McIntyre, NGW
......Hendrick, Loum, Fornah
Meite.............Joao................nce

In fairness, I was one of the first to suggest Rahman wasn’t a particularly great signing and nothing he’s done this season has suggested otherwise. Worst defensive record in the EFL last season, very little impetus going forward, not sure what he’d done to warrant such a strong reputation (aside from being an actual LB!) But based on this game, think he’ll be better equipped to deal with Sarr, who is one of the best players in the league. It’s evident Ince doesn’t need much of an excuse to drop the less experienced players out of the side

Fornah is another strange one. Thought he’d joined as a CDM but plays most of his games in the “Ejaria” role, towards the left of midfield. He’ll be at danger at dropping from the squad with everyone fit so if he does get a start on Tuesday (perhaps warranted although I sense a bit of revisionism in general here) he’ll need a good performance

Me too and I never changed my mind. Talented player with distinctly average performance.

I always thought Baba was alright but much preferred NGW straight away.

Literally had to get what we were given. Baba was average last year - but average is ok for our situation

Sounds like we only got him by twisting a few arms with the WC coming up. Doubt we’re paying more than a nominal part of his wage

He has been poor the last few games though no doubts. NGW prob deserves another go, but suspect Baba will keep his place to the WC

Watford will be missing 2 regulars from their defence tomorrow.

Sierralta and Kamara both picked up their 5th bookings and serve their bans tomorrow.

TBH, I think we'd have been better off giving NGW & Abrefa another 4 games each than getting in Mr nominal.

At least Hutchinson's back but that team looks very defensive.

1 step forward. Mind you, Rahman and Mbengue (presumably) at wingback feels like 2 back.

Is that 3 strikers on the bench and no centrebacks again?

Mid Sussex Royal
Jackson Corner Vicaridge rd is 100 years old this year. I reckon we must have played on that pitch more times than any other team apart from Watford of course. Just nine wins since 1920 and I have been to two of those. Another mid week defeat. At least it’s a short drive home.

Never seen us win there, can remember a good 2-2 under McGhee (season he left) when Simon Osborn scored a long ranger, ground was being redeveloped at the time and we were down the side somewhere

I've been to Vicarage Rd once and had the dubious pleasure of seeing Devon White tear us a new arsehole.

Team looks ok. Can’t complain about lack of bench options but frustrating to see McIntyre out

Quite like the 3 midfielders

The concern with McIntyre being out altogether isn't just him missing but also that we've rushed Hutchinson back.

Seems like we are transitioning from a back 5 to a back 4 with Hutchinson stepping in on Joao Pedro. When I saw the line up my heart sank when I saw Mbengue being lined up against Sarr.

Appears to be 4-1-4-1 with Mbengue CB, Hutch sitting, Ince and Ejaria on the wings.

Yes, shame Sarr’s not fit otherwise Tim would be having a fit.

Just seen Ince drop into a RWB position to intercept a pass there. Not quite worked out who is where yet.
