SCIAG Bindon hasn't had to face the same level of opposition that Ivar and Moore did.

Lots of short-term players have just oozed class, Dariusz obviously, Zurab, Upson, Matt Miazga in his initial loan. Anton Ferdinand probably read the game better than anyone else but was never fit.

My most controversial centre back opinion is probably that Andre Bikey is the best we've ever had. Imposing as Sonko, classy as anyone. But I'm not sure if he'd have been so successful without Ivar next to him.

Anton Ferdinand is the only player I've ever seen who appeared to never make a mistake. He knew what was going to happen long before it did, and just effortlessly slid into the place he needed to be. Honestly, I thought he was awesome. If he had had any kind of decent run in the team he would have been up there with the all time best I reckon.

Gorkss was very good on his day too.

Good shout on Ferdinand. In his brief stay with us he always looked impressive

Ark Royal Dariusz Wdowczyk by a country mile. Shame he was a walking sicknote. I hope Tyler Bindon's career continues to blossom as he is such class act.

100% agree, the best I have seen.

I’ll always have a soft spot for Hicks and Upson for the brief time he was with us was immense.

If any player can make it into our best XI in <6 months, Upson and Martinez are in with a shout.

Wdowczyk with pace would've been the perfect central defender. But if he had pace he'd never have ended up playing for us at that time. But such a classy player.

tidus_mi2 I think it's far too soon to put Bindon above prime Moore, Moore proved himself to be a top Championship CB, Bindon might be too but he's played no higher than L1 level at the moment.

Little harsh mate. He's a full international, and a stand out in the games he's played too.

It's a statement of fact.

The teams NZ face in Oceania internationals won't even be National League South level. We could probably cobble together an HNA? XI to give Vanuatu and Fiji a decent game.

I have faith Bindon will play top flight football, but he's currently untested above L1.

If we're counting loanees, Matty Upson. He just oozed class, control and composure.

In the 14 games he started for us, we only conceded 8, and 6 of those came in the first 5 games while he was still regaining fitness (3 in the League Cup in his first start, and 2 by Norwich when John Mackie was sent off in the first half.)

His last 12 league games were W: 9, D: 2, L: 1, GF: 15, GA: 2. Pts: 29 and we didn't concede a goal in the final 8 games he played.

As already suggested Dariusz Wdowczyk for me, followed by Ivar, Matt Upson, Superman and Keith McPherson.

Special mentions also to Big Martin, Steve Hetzke and Steve Wood and also Mr Utility - Gary Peters.

Am I remembering Linvoy Primus through rose-tinted glasses? In my mind he was a solid brick wall of a centre-back.

He was quality, but at a bit of a slump for us in recent history, sandwiched between two great sides.

So he gets a bit overlooked for Wdowczyk, Williams, McPherson and Ingimarson and Sonko. Plus he played for us 20 odd years ago, so a lot of the younger fans don't know him.
