Alan Partridge Convey was excellent....Eh???? :? :?

Convey's set pieces were tremendous, which was a pleasant change but an excellent performance? To steal one 'someone's had too many sherry's'

Only the defense and Hahnemann were 'excellent' last night.

Most times we broke were through him, particularly second half, he set up the goal, Sinclair and Richards couldn't handle him and he was at the centre of everything.

Having read the points about Seol, think I'll downgrade him to a 6 as he didnt really get into the game that much. Still caused problems when he ran at City tho.

AP you have spoken the most sense on this thread. Lita had a much better game than Doyle - don't let the breakways at the end fool you into thinking he had a good game, as it was v 10 men when they were chasing the game. Lita worked really hard, won more in the air, and held it up well in the channels.

As for Bobby - anyone who thinks he was 'terrific' knows absolutely jack shit about football. Didn't win a tackle for about an hour, scared of the ball, the big black men, and probably the scary lion on the touchline aswell. Deary me that boy needs to get a few JDs inside him before the game to get a bit of dutch courage at least.

Always interesting to get a neutrals perspective, and my Dad picked out (rightly imho) Sonko, Sidwell and Lita as our stand-out performers.

Lita had an excellent game, particularly first half, and certainly shed his 'lazy' tag (for me at least). Royalee's opinion would be interesting.

Doyle hardly got into the game - lots of running, but didn't cause Distin or Dunne any real problems.

Those ratings all seem a bit generous to me. We weren't great by any means and most credit has to be for tenacity and spirit rather than flair. City's ball movement, speed of thought and understanding all seemed better most of the time.

soggy biscuit drummer 0/10
'back the boys and make some noise' man 2/10
Jester hats 3/10
foreign bar staff on the concourse 2/10
friendly girl offering 'coffee & chocolate' in the East stand concourse 7/10
bloke selling badges out the front 3/10
pointy pointy man 0/10 (didn't see him)
Golden Gamble girls -1/10
URZ/no 13/Reading fans everywhere 2/10
car park pointers 3/10

Would have been a complete let down had it not been for the friendly girl selling coffee on the concourse

You're hard to please.

I thought Convey played much better than he did in the first two games.

But he still wasn't all that good.

I agree. He still appears to be finding his feet in this division, but I'm sure he will be back to his best soon

On the basis that we didn't have the ball for the majority of the match...

Hahnemann 6
Murty 7
Shorey 6
Ingimarsson 8
Sonko 8
Seol 5
Convey 5
Sidwell 6
Harper 6
Lita 6
Doyle 6

To everyone except Seol, and MAYBE Doyle. Lita was superb last night - best he's been all season. Maguire's post was spot on.

I'm a harsh critic....

USA - 7
Murts - 7
Ivar - 8
Sonko - 7
Shorey - 7
Seol - 6
Convey - 6
Sidwell - 6/7
Harper - 6
Doyle - 6
Lita - 6

On the whole.. defence did their job, albeit against a side of whom have yet to score in open play.

Midfield were more or less dominated by the citeh midfield for periods of the game..failed to produce good ball to strikers

Strikers didn't really stand out but i attribute this more to the service than their skill and desire..... Balls in the air to Doyle and Lita are NOT the most effective route (how we are missing Kitson, aye?)

Overall team result was 6/7..... win at home to an out of soughts citeh was what i'd hope to expect if we are to survive....
