Surely it's worth putting a stronger team out this time? We won't be competitive with the same team who played Darlington.

How will we manage when we have European midweek matches?

Well if they make it through at least there's one less top team to deal with plus there are so many prem vs. prem matchups that some really good teams will be knocked out.

I hope you're right about it being on the Wednesday, I've just booked my train tickets. £25 with Virgin, (buying 2 singles at £12.50)

I would've thought it is more likely to be on the tuesday, also are you coming back on the night of the match?

If we ask for a full allocation then we will get the entire Anfield Road lower tier. I very much doubt we will take more than a few thousand to this seeing as it will be mid week and a weaker team will be out, can see this going on general sale. I have a ticket as part of the away season ticket scheme, whether I go or sell my ticket is another matter.

Would imagine it would be priced around the £20 mark

cheeryoleary Priority to those who went to the Darlo game - or purely based on Royalty Points?

After the Darlo game you could give me 50 loyalty points and a free ticket and I still wouldn't go. Will make at least 6 changes to the usual 11 and will loose heavily. It's not the loosing though that will keep me away, but the damn shite football our reserves played last week. I could laugh on Tuesday night, but if I've got to travel all the way up there, pay whatever they want for a ticket and not get back to the early hours of the morning (start work at 7am too) then I wouldn't be happy at all watching that crap.

Forbury Lion What will the ticket allocation be as the league cup rules on ticket allocations may differ from the prem.

We'll get the whole Anfield Road end which is about 6k.

Tickets won't be a problem.

I can't make the away League game but I can make the cup game.

Easy decision, I feel.

whats the betting that after not getting Liverpool in any competition for the 114 years since they were founded, that we'll also get them in the FA Cup now that we've managed to join the elite and were due to play them twice anyway!!

what a draw!

Had an incling it would be a big team away! Well I for 1 am really excited about having the chance 2 go up 2 Anfield twice in 1 season! I'm definately going, and for all the people who aren't going up because its the reserve team or because we're going to lose then shame on u! Has it ever occured to you that perhaps support might boost the lads! I think Coppell has it SPOT ON fielding the reserves in the cup! What is the point in risking the 1st team players? Playing Kevin Doyle for the last 15/20 mins at the end of the Darlo game nearly ruled him out of the Man Utd game! The league is no.1 priority! Who will be happy if we win the Carling Cup but go down?!?!?!?!?!

P.S. (for the bloke above me - its Carling Cup not FA Cup mate

Are you sure that you get a ticket through your away season ticket ? I thought that this was for league games only? There was the home cup games option as I recall, but I didn't think this included away cup games.

If it does I will have a pair for sale.

I feel no shame at all. I have work the next morning, its a long way to go and a lot of money with travel to watch two reserve teams play.

Why so?

Both teams are playing on the preceding Sunday.

Flights are still £0.00 + tax = £24 on http://www.flybe.com from Southampton.

It's a no-brainer imho.
