cmonurz 1. No idea really - he is tall (6ft 2 or so) and strong on the ball, so as much of a target man as Kitson I guess.
2. If we can't afford Dave Nugent, we can't afford much at all. £2.5-3 million would do it.

There's no way he is 6ft 2 ins,more like about 5ft 10 ins and he isn't a target man.
People on here mocked those that spoke about Heskey and Sutton and yet both have scored in The Premiership.
We have had this discussion before and if Kitson doesn't achieve fitness sooner rather than later our need will become more and more urgent.
Todorov would have been the answer when Kitson got injured still within the first transfer window but the club chose to go with just the two main small strikers.
Results over the next few weeks will show whether the club's gamble has worked.
Anyone know what happened to Diego Tristan?

Nugent and Eastwood with Lita going the other way. We also need a defender and a midfielder.

eaststandbird Dave Nugent would be a great signing for about £3m and then in January get Alan Smith on loan for season as he has rejected cardiff and leeds

If it goes to your plan, then Lita will be setting the Premiership alight with Preston next season.

Lita must not go.

If we are meant to be a Premiership side then we need to sign Premiership standard players.
Even lowly West Ham got two current Argentinian internationals .

Understood. But once we have that target man he will be so much freer. Give him a chance.

Fair enough, but I still don't think even bringing in another Kitson-style player is going to give him the time he had in the Championship. We'll see though.

I've heard Thierry Henry is looking for a move to a team in the Reading area.

cmonurz Eastwood was mightily impressive against United, and we will need to take a gamble.

As above, he does however live in a caravan.

Massive attitude problem. He and Lita are like for like - no ta.

Jan Koller (sp?) £££££££?

Row Z Royal Blackstock - No thanks. Also, just joined QPR in the summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at Soton(!)

Fryatt is also too small

I disagree. Fryatt has the skill to cause the overpaid superstar defenders of the Premuiership some big problems.

Basingstoke got through the 2nd round of the cup today. That's definitely unchartered Thierryatory for him.

Got to say that I was really suprised that we showed no interest in Chris Sutton whilst he was a free agent.

A buddy who supports Southend emailed me to say that the buzz was that Reading scouts were watching Freddy Eastwood this afternoon.

Eastwood isn`t over 6ft either, and thats what we urgently need, stuggling to thonk of anyone in the UK, but must be loads overseas who would jump at the chance to play here
