There could be as many going as arriving; Stack, Halls and De La Cruz may well be on their respective journeys away from the Mad Stad; if we get a new target man stirker, I can also see Long going on loan for the rest of the season.

We need (either now or definately in the Summer) the following;

1. New keeper to push Marcus for the shirt (Summer)
2. New rb/lb cover - a younger version of a Chris Makin-type player (Jan)
3. New "target man" striker (Jan)
4. Depending upon Sidders, a new midfielder (Jan preferred)
5. New Centre half to push/rest Sonks and Ivar (Jan preferred)

At a push we need rb/lb cover and another striker in Jan.

Don't expect wholesale changes, and don't expect big name billy big bollox type signings.

Let's offer Zamora an escape from West Ham, whose supporters appear to hate him. He's getting really slated after today's defeat, yet I thought he was one of the few players in their team who kept trying throughout.

What's more he's great pals with Steve Sidwell (I believe Zamora's wife was having a meal with the Sidwells in the Atrium bar last night and she showed up to help at the WAGS do today) so maybe the pair teaming up again under Sir Steve would be enough to persuade Sidders to sign a new contract.

Agreed. Their best player by miles, looked a threat when he had it and was impressed by his link up play. Can't believe the stick he personally is getting.

Don't know, on KUMB he (with Green and Dailly) are about the only players who anyone has a good word for.

fter todays performance, maybe we might raise a few eyebrows and command a little bit more interest / respect from potential signings?!

Sidwell and Zamora traded shirts at the end of the match. It would be very good if Zamora made blue and white hoops his permanent strip.

I thought the club were out to improove the squad.
Seriously I know its a game of opinions but I rate Zamora as a half decent championship player not a lot more.Happy to eat my words should he sign on the dotted line and Sir Steve get the best from him.
Notice how Zamora is subtly trying to remove Sids shirt whilst Anton even less discreetly nods one on from Shoreys whipped free kick.He wants that hooped shirt bad.

Zamora splits opinion at West Ham, and he didn't have many fans at Tottenham, so I can't argue that it's a sure bet he would be successful at Reading. He has had his good moments at West Ham, and he's rumoured to be a player that needs his manager's confidence, so getting back with Coppell would be a plus for him.

He would be an excellent backup for Kitson. They have fairly similar physical attributes and playing styles (Kitson's better in the air but Zamora has more pace). Zamora can hold up play and bring other players in, which we need.

Reading will probably continue having problems attracting "established" Premier League players, and Curbishly will be looking to unload some of his legacy players, so it seems there is a fair chance this could happen.

zamora was probably the only player who actually tried today and would be a good signing.

Meanwhile, and OT, Konchesky (two England caps at left-back ahead of Shorey) jumps in the air nowhere near the ball, whilst Robert Green (England's third-choice keeper) decides that he's so good he can stop a cross with his eyes shut.

I have a feeling our signing is Zamora... his wife/girlfriend joined the WAGS in Costco car park today to help raise money, surely a bonding session for the new WAG ?

Starfish Optimistic. I have the funny feeling that on January 31st, there will be half a dozen threads bemoaning the fact that Sir Steve hasn´t signed anyone.

Agreed

Could well prove the case, and why should we moan?
Kitson and Convey aren't far off a return and that's like having two new players on board!
Bryn has looked in good shape when he's had a game and we only look vulnerable at right back when Murty is missing.
I'd like to see Greg Halford come in and I'd be a very happy bunny.

Agree. Greg Halford would be a very good signing but The Football Paper said that Colchester had already turned down an offer of £900,000 and, although very keen to keep him, have mentioned £2,000,000.
