readingfc.co.uk Adam Federici then produced an absolutely brilliant save to deny Henrik Larsson, and the keeper was even applauded by the United fans for a stunning stop.

Go Go Gadget arms
(still don't know how he managed to keep it out)

I don't believe we would have drawn the game had Marcus been in goal, great stuff from Adam.

He'd be my first goalie choice at this point. Excellent game.

The save against Larsson was magnificent. He was going the wrong way and as he turned he partly lost his footing, but still turned it round the post (and not back into play).

The difference in athleticism between A Fed and USA is cavernous. There is no way USA would have got to a few of those shots yesterday

Federici is going to be pushing Marcus very hard for that jersey, and lets hope this time we do not allow a excellent prospect to leave like Ashdown.

hahnemann wil have to keep up the formhe showed in his last match or he is risking being usurped.

I still have every faith in the big guy. But it's nice to have a sound back up.

Err, Ashdown chose to leave as he received a better contract offer from Pompey. Premiership or 2nd division football?

Don't be silly Huntley, we should have handcuffed him to the goal posts and beat him with rolled up magazines until he signed a new deal with us and stayed.

I thought it was common knowledge that Ashdown was told that despite his excellent form when Marcus was out that he would not be in the starting 11 at the start of the following season.

Federici's finest hour since inventing the wagon wheel.

I honestly thought Larsson had scored - couldn't believe he got a hand to it.

As far as I was aware he was rightly told he wouldn't be guarunteed being first choice. He would have had to earn the position on merit in training.

Not what I recall being said on here around the time, feel sure he was told that when Marcus would be in the sticks for the start of the following season.

I thought the one vs one he stopped from Ronaldo was absolutely superb.

and as the commentator said, Schmeichel-esque

IIRC, the Schmeichel-esque praise was aimed at Kuszczak (sp) for his distribution in the buildup rather than at Federici's save.

Brilliant performance.

Marcus has serious competition and Stack needs a new club.
