I don't think that Andy Gurney was that bad.

Michael Meaker anybody? Manager Terry Bullivant or Tommy Burns?

skipper
mini _dariusz Omar Daley cannot possibly be in that team. His Cruyff turn for our 3rd goal in the cup at Oxford left Matt Robinson sliding into the car park!

ah ys i remember it well, and it was my first and only visit to the Kassam, and they had'nt even finished buildig it! and there was riots after! now thats a night out at the football!

What do you mean haven't even finished building it? You mean the open end? That's still there ... so they STILL haven't finished!

Yes, agreed that Gurney wasn't that bad. Showing my age here, but a must for one of the midfield slots has to be Hughie Cheetham. I think we signed him from Crewe in the 70's for a pretty hefty 25 grand at the time.
He was touted at the time as the next Brian Robson--he was absolute crap.
Don't forget the legendary Ollie Kearns either--you either loved him or hated him!!

Crowthorne Royal No-one was worse than the donkey Keith Scott!! Scored a wonder goal at MS preceded and followed by some of the worst regular pitiful performances I have ever seen.

Lacks pace - Malky Mckay
Turning circle of a Juggernaut - Martin Hicks
A sloth - A sloth
A lazy, slow, feet up kinda sloth - Keith Scott

Goodnight. :P

That's bollocks, he was the only player in the 98/99 season that actually did anything of use. In fact, his goals gave us the slim hope of playoff contention until we lost consecutive home games to Man City and Fulham. McIntyre was a far worse player than Scott

I think he left end of 95/96, because Reading nearly drw Boreham Wood in the FA Cup 97 and he was playing for them.

Although I have found this article in which he has been voted Reading's worst player of all time:

Huntley & Palmer,

I can't see anyone agreeing with you mate ?

BTW I'd give Mcintyre 5 out of 10, Scott 2 out of 10 and 1.8 of that is for the Bradford goal!!!!!!

See other snooty replies regarding the Madstad era.

BTW anyone who doesn't recognise the sheer genius behind Keith Scott's goal v Bradford is clearly a great big plastic who wasn't there.

and another thing wasn't Maybury denied much of a chance because he was only on loan for a few games, one of which saw him look at Paul Dickov funny who then rolled around on the floor for a while?

Anyone else remember Andy Reilly? Winger on loan from Leeds, smaller than Sammy Igoe, weaker than Kaliber lager.

anyone remember that abysmally awful performance in that defeat to Aylesbury (2-0?) in the Berks and Bucks final back in May 2000. Believe that 10 of the 11 starters were mega bucks players signed by Burns.

Surely that side has to rank as the worst side since the Mad Stad ever - anyone got a match report for it?

Leo Roget

The only 1st team appearance I remember was a great blood and thunder 0-0 draw at Swinedon in which 3 were sent off, 2 of them and Sammy Igoe. From what I recall Roget played well but was injured soon after and never wore the hoops again.
