Stranded
Silver Fox
Stranded 14th Home

Boooooo

Could be wrong mate but the PL seem to like having the pattern that teams away on the first day then have two home games and vice versa.

Given we have to be away on the 25th then the pattern sees at home on the 14th.

In that case can we please have Liverpool or Arsenal at home so it gets postponed?

I have a strong feeling it will be Man City away.

I hope we get a big team - Southampton, perhaps.

Readingfanman Sunderland or Newcastle away please

Don't really want Sunderland as the crowd will be right up for it, might be the extra man they would need to get a result from us, would prefer to play them when they have had a few games.

Villa away (easy away trip which I missed last year due to holidays) followed by Derby at home and Liverpool at home. Nice 5 or 7 points to start, then Wigan away over the bank holiday weekend (so at least 6 points by end of August).

I think there is a very strong chance that the first game will be away, as for the previous two years the first game has been at home, i'm not sure, but i remember hearing somewhere that you cannot have your first or last fixture being either away for 3 consecutive seasons, or home for 3 consecutive seasons.

:? although i could be wrong.

Surely we could be at home on the 25th with the game being moved to the monday such as was with Sunderland a few seasons back?

I think you must be wrong, I'm afriad.

That's not in the criteria which are used to put the fixtures together. the closest there is is this (it's from a season or so ago but there are no massive changes to it) :

1.5 Beginning/End of Season
All Clubs should have an alternating sequence of home and away Saturday fixtures at both the beginning and end of the season. This may for example be 4 at the beginning and 2 at the end of each season. (Note: For 2002/2003 season this rule was relaxed by the Premier League to assist with the overall sequencing)

Sunderland or Newcastle would be just the tonic, I think.

Thats why I wasnt so sure, just heard somebody mention it before. Personally i would like it to be an away trip anyway, they are always enjoyable, and i reckon it will be Birmingham/Derby/Wigan/Newcastle, but i havent a clue why i think that.

Stranded Now given we have to be away on the 25th due to the festival then we'll start like this

11th Away
14th Home
18th Home
25th Away

I'd like to get one of the top four away out of the way early so Liverpool away will do to start.

Those all look winnable to me, I'll go for 10 points

Dirk Gently Derby for me, so we can write something derogatory in the programme about them.
