Alan Partridge Depends on injuries

Stack/Hahnemann

Murty
Shorey
Bikey
Ingimarsson

Seol
Gunnarsson
Harper
Hunt

Doyle
Lita

Yes, Probably this one. Cisse to replace Gunnar with about 20 minutes left. Cisse to gradually play more and more before replacing Gunnar in the starting lineup sometime during the season.

Mr Loyal Royal
BR2 I thought we still had a striker called Kitson.
How come he hasn't featured not least

Because he is really not as good as Doyle, Lita or Long ...

He holds the ball up better than all 3 of those. It's another way of approaching the game, trying to keep possession ourselves a bit better than we have in our away games previously against the top teams away.

To be honest i would expect Coppell to go at the game the same as he did in the corresponding fixture last season as a 4-5-1 with Doyle and LIta alternating in the lone strikers role. Hoping to hit them with pace on the break when the opportunity arises.

Fedirici

Murts
Shorey
Ingi
Doobs

Seol
Hunt
Cisse (rather than Gunnar - SC will start him on bench in case a forced sub is needed)
Harper

Kitson
Doyle

I'd quite like to see Bikey in for Duberry as he clearly did well against Utd. last time. But he seemed to be favouring Doobs towards the end of last season.

I don't think Cisse will be thrown into the fire for this one. If it's 4-5-1 Bikey will play midfield with Gunnarsson and Harper..

I think you're right and Coppell will try and starve them in midfield, but that's the team I'd play.

Interesting take on things-do you really think that Long is currently a better striker than Kitson and as good a team player?

Maybe Mr LR forgot that Kitson had been out injured for most of last season!

I don't think we'll see Fae v Man U or Chelsea. Gunnar or Cisse will play v good teams, Fae will play when we want the 3 points!

No point splashing the cash on Fae and not putting him in there. In a way these are games we'd in honesty expect to lose, so the pressure is off Fae really in these 1st few games. Guess it'll depend on if he plays at Wolves and how good he looks in training.

Agree with Doyle on the right, although out of position he'll be more solid than Seol and for all the stick Lita gets about work rate, I think he's the best of our strikers up front on his own, seem to remember great performances from him playing that role at both Man U and Chelsea last season.

The last time Doyle played on the right we looked awful and conceeded 3 goals in about 6 mins. This was also against Utd. Not necessarily his faulty, but lets stick to playing him where he's best. Up front.

It'll probably take a few weeks before they can get him up to the required levels of fitness - unless he's super-fit already.

Thinking about it I'm pretty sure the Nantes technical director said he'd had an injury which was holding up any transfer, plus Hammond said something about him missing quite few games last season. So his fitness prob won't be great at the moment....
