Re: Premiership Placings for the season

Royalee 19th - Wigan - Their existence in the Premiership annoys me as they only got 15,000 for a lot of games last season and they couldn't even sell out to Arsenal! Frankly, their fans don't deserve a Premiership club and this year Chris Hutchings is going to fulfill my wish and take them down. Anybody who rates Titus Bramble needs their head checked and they've just lost their best player in Baines and have yet to replace him. Add to that the fact that De Zeuw's gone and they're down.

It shouldn't matter how many fans they've got. If we had 20,000 less fans than we currently have and you were one of the few, how would you feel if someone said "scrap that club, they don't have a strong enough support"? You would presumably still love the club as much as you do now?

Perhaps I should have said 'town' instead of 'fans' no deserving a Premiership club then. Although their fans probably don't either with their pathetic pitch invasion after the playoff first leg the other year.

My uninformed and sadly lacking predictions: -

United or Chelsea to win the league (but frankly who gives a damn)

Liverpool 3rd (but closer than last year)
Arsenal 4th
Spurs, Everton, Blackburn: Euro places (assuming they or top 4 win cups)

Man City, Newcastle, West Ham, Villa flatter to deceive

Us to finish middle third

Middlesbro to struggle but survive

Bottom five (in no apparent order) Wigan, Derby, Fulham, Birmingham, Bolton

Sunderland, Portsmouth - who cares?

One area where I dsagree greatly with Royalee and some of the others is Pompey.
I think they will finish in the top 7.

Alan Partridge Man Utd
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal
Spurs
Everton

The rest

Reading about 15th

Sunderland
Wigan
Derby

I tipped Sunderland too, but they're playing bloody good against Spurs :? Despite not scoring, they're doing very well, and if they play like this all year they won't be anywhere near relegation.

I'm amazed that the consensus seems to be that Villa and Bolton will do well and Sunderland will struggle.

I'd see things as exactly the opposite way round - Bolton was all down to Big Sam and without him they'll have problems, and there's just something nor quite right at Villa - MON seems to have lost the magic.

Sunderland I think will do as well as we did last year - they have the confidence and the momentum that we came with last season.

We haven't sold 3,000 tickets for Man United away, and Can't sell out at home to Chelsea.

I guess we don't deserve a Premiership club either...

I think we have sold out at home to Chelsea and we had superb support at Old Trafford...

I think Man City are the dark horses this year - reckon they'll finish in the top 8. Everyone forgets Sven has got a great club track record. Also think Bolton will flirt with relegation, at least until Little Sam gets the chop around Christmas.

Mid-table for us would suit me fine!
