pearcetom 1-0 LOLampard scored

Darron Gibson, making his senior debut, fired in a wicked shot from 25-yards that Christiansen could only palm down and there was Shane Long to follow up and stroke the rebound home with panache. It was the Reading striker's second goal in as many games having opened his account against Bolivia in May.

Uncertain looking defending it was. No wonder West Ham are interested, they are always looking for bad defenders.

After you apportion 100% to Robinson I'm not sure how much blame there is left to share with anyone else !

I dont think thats fair. He did some good things, and few things he'll wish to forget. Its only his 2nd cap remember, he'll get better.

Thank you McLaren and England.
You have gone on to ruin a good full-back.
Shorey did not look himself for about 98% of the game. Every time he got the ball he was intimidated into either passing it backwards/sidewards to Terry, or the short pass to Joe Cole, or Frank Lampard.
As soon as they got the ball the game became predictable.
These so-called star players keep wanting the ball and do nothing with it. It's live on-screen advertisement. That's all.
Joe Cole will try to take on the world and lose it. Lampard calls for the ball and then plays it backwards to Terry.
It got so bad that Shorey wasn't even allowed to take a simple free-kick.
It had to be a Beckham Trademark every friggin' time, even if it was a back-pass to the keeper.
When the Kcuf is England going to learn that international football is not about product placement but about a game where you have to beat the opposition.

aargh, I could rant for hours.

Perhaps he ought to put pen to paper before RFC withdraw the offer.

If you look at the replay it is Robinson who clears the ball not Shorey.

Our boy was a bit average tonight. Having said that, playing behind Joe Cole must be a nightmare for any full-back. Cole always cuts in to the right, never looking to play in Shorey and not great at covering. And Lampard always plays it left to right.

Shaorey played pretty much exactly like he did against Brazil...

Kept it simple, passed the ball to a team mate, tried to push in until he remembered it was Joe Cole ahead of him so there was no point.

Had the ball pinched off him a couple of times but didn;t do anything majorly wrong.

Whether what is needed at international level is a steady performer or perhaps someone who creates a bit more is the question. He's not let anyone down in his games and should make plenty of future squads. Don;t think he's going to displace Cole A. though !

He stands way too far off the right winger. I thought so in both games. There's no danger he's going to put in a tackle so the attacker can more or less choose his options. Also, his movement off the ball was very limited. Compare him with Richards, who was up and down like a yo-yo and involved in everything at both ends.

pretty unfair to say he was out of his depth, I didn`t see too much that he did wrong, if you think playing simple balls makes him a bad international player then the same must be said of John Terry, after all thats all he did all night

I had hoped that when Beckham buggered off to the thoroughly uninteresting MLS that would be the last we see of him. Sadly not.

Beckham, although good from set pieces is so predictable in general play.

Recieve the ball, have a touch, cross. He needs to mix it up a bit.
