Old Biscuitman Some people just never want to cheer up. For the first time since the Liverpool we have something to feel good about, so just smile and relax, guys.

When we're crap I look on the bright side and when we're good, some of the fickleness needs tempering.

Ian Royal 1 excellent game does not make a season, but he's certainly starting to come good.

I just hope a few people might learn not to right our signings off so quickly now. Then again they never learnt from any other example so why change now.

I would agree but we bought him to play in centre-midfield and its taken 135 minutes at centre-back for him to look Premiership quality.

And we've needed extra ability in defence all season .... :?

Whether a one off or not, it was probably the most assured performance by a back four player all season - with the possible exceptions of Murty and DLC at OT - and Cisse isn't even a centre half, is he?

Thought Convey was total pants... If we had an out ball on the left and he pushed on a bit we would have caused all sorts of problems.

Put in a great performance today and he was also struggling with a hamstring problem apparently so fair play to the fella. Seems like we have found our new centre back :D

Cisse was brilliant today. Even more so considering he was carrying an injury.

According to SC he played at centre back before he came to us but has a preference for playing in midfield. Perhaps we ought to dissuade him from that preference and play him where he is at his best. Likewise some of our other signings.

However, the fact that we had to gamble and play him when he was suffering from a hamstring problem (he was certainly holding the back of his leg after his goal-line clearance following USA's blunder) just shows how badly we still need to strengthen the squad. Had the hamstring torn when he made that clearance we could well have lost another player for several weeks.

i thought he was very good today,as you said head in here foot in there, but the team in whole are still hoofing the ball up field,i don't think we got a knock down all day.the defence looked solid and forwards were working there socks off, but midfield or lack of it,we must strengthen it even more.

Thought he was excellent today. Had Tevez in his pocket for most of the game. Strong, good in the air and able to play the ball with both feet. Looks much more comfortable at centre back than in midfield. Sonko will have a job trying to get back in the team on today's showing

I agree with most comments, but I think it will be Ivar who has to worry because of his lack of pace

Great goal line clearance from Cisse, and I thought he looked a class act all game. I like the fact the he actually tackles people, he gets close and sticks a leg in, and doesn't seem to give away soft free kicks.

For me, Cisse was MOM.

He was absolutely brilliant. He looked comfortable on the ball, moved it around well, got his head on everything that came near him.....

But Most importantly for me - he thought before lunging in for a tackle. Sonko would have struggled today, and I think some of the challenges Cisse made were absolute class - challenges which would have resulted in cards/penalties had Sonks tried to time them!

He was excellent today. I am expecting we will see him there for the next few games, and hopefully he will show us the consistancy at the back we have been missing.

Could it be... Have we solved the problem at center back and central midfield?

agreed i think 30 mins into the 1st half i made that comment.

He was brilliant, was always on the ball, taking chances e.t.c

Sonko should be worried

Sonko should be delighted. He won't have to panic every time he gets sent off because we'll have decent cover.

Agree with all that. He had a great game, MOTM definitely. Nice to see a bit of pace in a CB. On the basis of their performances this season one of Sonko/Ingy should be worried.
