What game does MM miss (assuming no appeal)?

It is just the next game?

We have to find out whether he can cut it in the prem, this seems ideal

You mean the one at home where Sonko cost us the game but we defended well thanks mainly to Cisse? Yes, I did.

No, not while we still need points.

Thought that the sending off was very harsh. But he has definately made a big impact on us rising from the relegation places.

Matejovsky is rapidly becoming one of my favourite RFC players. At one point in the second half he controlled a ball that came at him v.fast with his knee - compare this to Oster letting a long ball go right under his foot (and the shot on the volley that he shinned into the crowd).

i like seeing marek playing further forward instead of the defensive role that he was playing first half and Harper took over that role in the second half. He finds that space in between the opposition defnders and midfielders so consistantly. definately growing game by game and is a massive talent. in my view he can only get better

Marek Matejovsky looks like a player with a great potential. But sometimes it has shown that he may well be too good for Reading. He's got excellent vision and intelligence on the pitch but sometimes his team mates aren't on the same wavelength. His sending off last night was not deserved and i think we should appeal (but we wont).

I hope we keep this lad for a very long time, but surely it cant be long before a "big" club come in for him.

I'll be supporting Czech Republic at Euro 2008 just because of Marek.

Not sure you can appeal. You can a straight red but can't a yellow and as he got two yellows I assume you can't.

Wasn't deserved though. The long analysis on MOTD confirme that

Ideal
Ray Houghton - at his peak, maybe. with us, no.
Neil Webb. Maybe
Jamie Cureton. No
Darren Caskey. No.
Glenn Little. Maybe.
Dave Kitson. No.
Scott Taylor. No.
Simon Osborn. No.
Mick Gooding. No.
Jimmy Quinn. No.
And although I've never actually seen him play, I am sure Robin Friday was much more talented.

I'm sure that given a bit more thought the list could be much bigger. Let's not kid ourselves here, he's not that special.

How special are those players listed above who spent virtually their entire careers in the lower divisions?

You can't appeal a red that is the result of a second yellow. However, I believe you can ask the ref to reconsider the yellow. Having said that, Crappenburk completely ignored his assistant who was telling him the ball was flat so I very much doubt he would be prepared to revisit any of his decisions.

Goals on Sunday went some way towards making up for the shyte MOTD coverage and even Jason Roberts reckoned the second yellow was very harsh.

Caskey (some of the time), Osborn and Friday (definitely).

I am sure after a preseason that next season MM will look only second behind Friday.

Personally I thought it was a red. I thought it was silly to go in the way he did when he was on a booking. Roberts was free down the wing, Marek took him out. Whether or not it was deliberate in today's game the result of a foul like that is a yellow card. That doesn't excuse the complete inconsistency of Clattenberg though. IMO Ryan Nelsen should have been sent off for two bookings, firstly for bringing down Doyle in almost exactly the same scenario as Marek's 2nd booking, and then for the petulant tug at Marcus when he's about to launch the ball. but hey, you almost accept that referee's are going to be shit these days.

Blackburn are a very sly niggly side who gave away a number of cynical fouls and it was them who looked a lot more likely to end the game with 10 or less.
