Reading to lose making it an "interesting" finale to the season. ("I do so hope I'm wrong" - and usually am.)

With an early goal we'll romp home 3 or 4 nil.

But we need to kill them off with a 2 goal cushion or our nerves will be shredded by the time we go home.

Prediction - Reading 1 Fulham 1

Same old Reading unable to kill a team off.

3-1 reading

doyle(foot), hunt(6 yard easy volley), little( jinks past all 10 outfield players before chipping the keeper exquisitly)
Bullard (free kick)

a performance to wash away the newcastle blues

Reading 1 Fulham 1

Everyone's talking about this being's Reading biggest game of the season, well its more like fulhams biggest game, if they don't win they are as good as down
I see McBride giving Fulham the lead with Doyle breaking his scoring duck with 10 minutes to go. West ham does Reading a favour by drawing with Bolton.

After a poor run before the Derby game, SSC needed and planned for a win. The same now so I can see another 1-0 home win. Not particularly entertaining for the fans but 3 valuable points nonetheless.

I'm feeling strangely optimistic about this one...

Reading 3 - 0 Fulham

Doyle (yes!)
Kitson
Hunt

As long as we win I'm not either bothered about the score line or the way we play.

Survival is the only important thing at this stage of the campaign.

Reading 2 Fulham 0

Doyle, Matejovsky.

Planning for next season to start in earnest.

Coppell to smile (a bit).

HNA to take early summer holiday.

HEART:--> I`d love us to come out of the blocks early and have Fulham all but down by half time and then go silly in the second half racking up 5 or 6 to massively ease lingering fears of a return to bubble pop land.
HEAD---> We "do a Reading" and contrive to make life difficult for ourselves by sitting back way too deep letting Fulham come on to us and silence the crowd by taking an early lead(12 mins) before we start playing some football and grabbing an equalizer midway through the second half .The last 20 mins will be a desperate reargaurd action as Fulham win a string of late corners in their bid for prem survival .We klingon to a hopefully vital point and Marcus once again earns his Korn. The 6 mins injury time Mr Foy adds on is most annoying as we hear that West Ham concede a late goal to give Bolton all 3 points and that Brum have scraped a 1 nil win over 9 man Everton
Naarggh

Note: Handy that Eddie Johnson and keeper Antti Niemi remain sidelined though.

1-1 (Kitson 76 mins).

I have a bad feeling this game will be a throwback to the must-win games of the seasons before 05/06, with Reading not putting in a great performance in a game where a good result is important. Reading will take the lead halfway through the first half, sit back, hang on nervously and concede an equaliser halfway through the second. Bolton will win against West Ham, reducing the gap to 4 points with 1 home game and 3 aways left.

Reading (1)1 - 1 (1) Fulham (Kitson 23; Bullard 65)

Hopefully that clears the way for a 3-0 win and it probably will with my track record

Fulham fans are the worst home fans I've ever heard, or not heard. This year they were appalling - the only time we could hear them was in the 93rd minute, at 3-1 up, chanting 'you're not singing anymore' This was still drowned out by the Reading fans. I'm not one of these people who goes to matches just to oxf*rd off about 'proper support' blah blah blah but they were noticeably bad. Away support was good last year though, can we please leave any possible criticisms at home tomorrow and save them for after the match? I'm thinking about the people who shout 'take him off' every time Oster misplaces a pass in particular.

Agreed. The west London accent is notoriously difficult for Reading residents to adopt.

I, like some others, have a bad feeling about this one, it might not be a loss, or even a draw, but it will be painful, perhaps at 1-0 down in the first half with bolton and brum winning, and then come back and win 2-1 or something, but i'm sure my heart is going to be racing at 200mph the whole afternoon.

But, then sometimes pessimism is a good way forwards, it makes victory so much better!

Using reverse psychology, we are going to get beat 5-0, Kitson is going to get bulldozed, Matejovsky will get sent off again and Steve Coppell will get sent to the stands..........
