Man Friday This regular fixture is really good fun with the more informal environment (able to stroll around the pitch, get close, have a drink, etc). Some of the players made it a great afternoon by talking to the fans and signing autographs - special mentions to Marcus, Kits, Hunty and Longy. A few others joined in to be fair, though.

Harps looked as if he's on his way - didn't come across to the fans.

OK it's only Didcot but nine goals is nine goals (I only counted eight!) and the players looked sharp/fit. Doyle looked keen. Jury still out on Kebe. Leroy looked bored (but he often has that look).

Didn't see Coppell but I assume he was there from his post match comments.

All in all, a good afternoon.

Left winger looked good - there's only one Simon Hollway!!! (Looked like a shot to me but I suppose to spare Didcot's blushes they have to say it was a rebound.)

Coppell was sat in the stand, clutching a mug of something and giggling quietly to himself when Fedders almost oxf*rd up royal style.

Royal Rother
g So if these youths become good enough to get us back in the premier league, why weren't they used 6 months ago...

Because 6 months ago they wouldn't have been ready to play in the PL.

Did that really need answering?

Or perhaps, just perhaps, Coppell made a mistake in not taking a gamble on throwing one in here and there just to liven things up.

That's not based on these kids appearance in a nothing game against a team a million miles away in standard, but on how appalling we were at times last season and how some fresh, keen, blood in the side might've shaken things up.

Coppell as admitted he made mistakes. Perhaps this was one of the many.

RTFC Drummer Maybe Reading FC should play Reading Town next pres-season..........then you can listen to me chanting & drumming all the time :D

Alternatively, we could break your drum into a hundred pieces and slit our wrists.

thought convey was good and maybe this season we will see alot of him, set up a great weighted ball for Sigurasson to score. His free kick would most likley have been saved by a better keeper. Thing there will be a few more chants of OLE OLE convey next season. Interesting to see Pearce in midfield did ok.

There has been of lot of people saying that Reading played well but you don't have to when there playing Didcot Town. Up next is Forest Green and again a comfortable win there and a swedish tour which is like league 1 or 2 football in the UK so not exactly a challange. Reading should play teams in the prem or championship for pre-season not part timers.

Dons will be a decent workout, Halmstads could be tough since they're well up in the league and in the middle of their season, Villa will be a good show and should really show who's up for the season.

Frankly, I think pre-season is overrated. This season is no different from Summer 05...
