Terminal Boardom Thats what makes football so interesting - different opinions. Shunt reminds me of a poor mans Kevin Bremner. If you took his running around alot away, what are you actually left with?

An International player who performed well in the Premiership and has been the subject of several bids in excess of £3m.

Given that we rejected all of these bids, I make that at least 3 Premiership and 2 International managers who see something in Stephen Hunt that you don't.

How naiive can you be. Fancy falling into the trap of thinking that PL and international managers know more about football than the brains on HNA do. How silly can you get. :D

Doesn't that possibly mean that the remaining Premiership managers don't think he's good enough?

Not necessarily:

Not enough funds
Don't need a left sided player
Not the right sort of character
etc......

I know there are reasons why other clubs wouldn't want him, and they all basically add up to the same thing, that those other premiership managers don't think he's worth the money because he's not better than what they've got.

That is a very simplistic view I know, but 5 million isnt that much for what people are claiming to be a proven Premiership left winger.

Imagine how many people would be snapping our arm off if we had Stuart Downing or Gamst Pederson available for that sort of money/wages.

Hunt is what he is, a pain in the arse winger who's technique is far too inconsistent and lets him down far too often to be considered a Premiership winger. A useful squad player capable of doing a certain job yes, but not a job you need a lot of quality for.

i think his displays this season have been very consistent, and shown a big improvement in terms of technique and end product

its only a few games, but if it continues, people wont be able to make these arguments with a a straight face.

I have to say I agree with that Brendy.

Obvioulsy I'm not Hunt's biggest fan, but I do admit that he seems to have improved the consistency of his play this season. Whether that is because of a less frantic approach as he's generally been playing left back, or because he gets a little more time on the ball now he's a recognisable name, or he's just more relaxed and confident having had a good time in the Premiership I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how he keeps it up and how he performs under a bit more pressure, like having a few open goal chances to seal promotion or a play off place.

He did also start the season really well last season too. Maybe he's just good at hitting the ground running and so looks a bit better than others at the start of the season.

i was wary of his false start last term when i wrote my reply

he needs to continue
and i certainly prefer 1st half of season hunt to the other shower of shit
