Lita and Hunt oop front, Doyle on bench, Long out.

no 4-4-2 in the two wingers mode, but a tighter middle of the field 4-4-2

Agree, but I'd like to see Mooney given a place on the bench.

Doyle is a shadow of his former self.

Tbf to Doyle he's done some travelling as well as playing 2 games this week with an ankle knock. Bit of tiredness in his performance yesterday? Can't really comment because i neither heard or saw the game at all.

It's not just this week though is it? He has, with the exception of the palace game, been terrible for a long while now. When a good performance from a player is the exception to the rule, surely that indicates that it is time for a change.

The difference in treatment of Lita and Doyle is obvious. If Lita has any more than a couple of bad games in a row he is banished from the starting line up. Doyle on the other hand...........

Coppell's loyalty to certain players, irrespective of performance, is killing us.

Hahnemann

Rosenior
Pearce
Ideally Bikey here as well as in midfield  probably be Ingimarsson, is there anyone else who could play there??
Kelly

Kebe
Bikey
Matejovsky if fit, Karacan if not
S Hunt

Lita
N Hunt

Subs: Federici, Henry, Armstrong, Doyle, Murty if fit

Left at home: Harper

I still can't believe we are discussing teams like this when 14 months ago we had Sidwell, Little, Shorey, Kitson  No chance of promotion, little chance of relegation - might as well experiment to find the right team because the manager's favourites are not working.

I agree with the other AP. Doyle has got 4 goals in the last three games. Surely we should be giving a Doyle Hunt partnership a try.

If coppell has dispensed with Lita (which seems quite possible) then Mooney should be the one to try if Doyle and Hunt don't do well together.

I have a feeling Doyler and Nhunt will be a productive pairing. Both players work hard, take up good positions, are good in the air and seem pretty smart.

It is a shame Long has been in but I think we will see my preferred partnership on tuesday...

Team for Sheff Wednesday

by loyalroyal4life » 14 Sep 2008 18:35

Would like to see the following team turn out on tuesday!!

USA
ROSENIOR
PEARCE
IVAR
ARMSTRONG
KEBE
BIKEY
HARPER
S.HUNT
DOYLE
N.HUNT

SUBS: Henry, Kelly, Convey, Lita, Federici

Not so sure we will get any changes although at least Long should be getting axed in favour of N.Hunt.

Hahnemann
Armstrong
Pearce
Ingi
Rosenior
S Hunt
Harper
Karacan
Kebe
Doyle
N Hunt
Subs, Federici, Bikey, Convey, Long, Mooney.

I expect this to be the starting 11, Please oh please give Noel Hunt a start, S Hunt seems to put in a little more when his Brother plays, thats great, and it really is time Long was consigned to the bench for good or farmed out on loan. Personally I`d love to see Mooney get half hour or so off the bench to see what he can do, Sheff Wed are full of confidence right now and this game is by no means going to be easy although I think our good home form will shine through in the end.

Why are some of you suggesting that Bikey play in midfield?
Yesterday he clearly demonstrated its not his best position and he was quite frankly very poor when he came on

He was awful in the away game against Blackburn last year as well. Happy to see Gunnar back tbh...

Give him a chance, its the first game he has played for us this season. I think he will do a job Just in front of the back 4, we need some bite and defensive cover in midfield, Bikey will certainly provide that

It's time for major changes, Ingimarson, Long and Harper need dropping.

Pearce is 19 so I would hope Ivar has 'better judgement'. Pearce will get better and better the more he plays and me personally I'd stick with him at the moment and play him alongside Bikey. I think there needs to be a change there and I think Coppell will drop Pearce, Karacan (obvious) and Long.
