Royal Rother If fully fit Nhunt will start. Long dropped, Lita on bench.

If we're gonna drop Long from the bench, can't we give Mooney a go? He did more in his appearance against Luton than Leroy's done all season.

Well, I would support that, but don't think it will happen just yet.

Bill Oddie's Beard
2 world wars, 1 world cup
Captain Lager I agree, he looks very good and shouldn't be dropped. I know that sounds obvious but it is Coppell and I duly expect Long to start at Watford.

Yes same here.

I know I'm a massive Coppell fan but even I will be majorly hacked off if he starts Long ahead of NHunt.

If only to shut the fans up and prove us wrong NHunt has to start with the Doyler.

Why on earth would he start Long? He doesn't change a winning team, especially a winning strike force that scored 5 between them!!

Because Shane Long is Coppells love child. Similar relationship to McClaren and Downing.

Lita should be given a chance on the bench at least.

Deathy I don't recall Andy Johnson being much of a provider in the assists to be honest. Dirty diving little qunt yes.

Well said - Johnson has no touch and nothing else but pace and Noel Hunt is a much more skilful footballer and finisher

Looks to be a great signing. Good in front of goal and is very good at winning headers and running with the ball.

Doyle and him can be lethal this season.

Noel Hunt is at 51's to finish top scorer in the Championship this season with Ladbrokes.

Now if I were a betting man, I would say that those were pretty good odds and a few Reading fans have a great opportunity to make a bit of a financial killing come May.

Noel Hunt will surely cement his place as a regular starter in the first team from now onwards after his recent displays.

The lad is bang in form, he looks sharp and the best thing about him is the quality of his decision making. Its his brain. He makes the right decision every time. Against Wednesday for the first goal he could have striked it himself. But no! Such was his selflessness, he squared the ball to Doyler who was in an even more deadly goal scoring position and let his compatriot fire us into the lead.

With a strong chance that Doyler could be off in January, Noel may well end up as our top scorer this season. Its looking increasingly likely that this seasons top Championship scorer will be wearing Blue & White. I'm putting my money on Noel even if Doyler does stay put. Noel is getting into all the right areas and his off the ball movement is putting him in lots of dangerous positions where he is either gonna score himself or set someone else up.

This lad looks quality so far. Well done Coppell, Stephen Hunt and RFC scouts. Credit where its due.

Hunt will start unless he isn't fit. Lets remember he did get taken off with some sort of knock, hopefully cramp as mentioned above and not a knock.

Long will remain on the bench, because he hit the bar and set up an attack we scored from. If Hunt is injured or not fit he may even come back into the starting line up. Normally I'd expect Lita back in in that case. But as Lita is nowhere I kinda doubt that.

He does look good, he certainly gets chances. 4(?) goals(including cup), a few assists and the woodwork 3(?) times so far.

Still, as with a fair few other players it's too early to really make a judgement. Although unlike most of those other players, I haven't seen a single negative indicator about him. Unless you include his price tag. Which I don't.

westendgirl Ron had to get the 4th official to change his board.

No, originally it said 8(off), but then he changed it to 9, he obviously put up the wrong number first. I dont think lita was coming off lol

Do you reckon the real reason squad numbers were brought in was to stop players having to remember which number they were during subsitutions?

Leamington Royal Better in the air too.

I couldnt believe how accurate and well time both his jumping and Bikey's was.

Immence!

Our linking play with Kebe is mint too, we have the best forward line in the division!

Frankly, Id be utterly amazed if Noel Hunt is being considered for a place anywhere other than the starting eleven this Saturday.

Assuming he is fully fit of course. The gulf between in quality between him and Shane Long is abolutely enormous

Birmingham have Jerome, Bent, Owusu-Abeyie, McSheffrey, McFadden, oh and the top scorer in the Championship last year. We have Doyle and Hunt. It's not bad but let's not get carried away by a win over a team who defended like Earley Eagles under 8s.
