my memories of convey

him tearing teams a new bumhole in 05/06

even if he did nothing else ever
ill always remember him

it only takes an injury to hunt and he'll be on the bench at least
LOL at kelly or rosi ahead of him!
kebe maybe
hell probably never recapture his best form
buti have a hunch that he needs to be playing in a confident team, hes a confidence player who feeds off the others
in this team, who are flying i think hed do ok again

Rev Algenon Stickleback H
Cpl Jones Dont panic Just based on he seems destined to stay in the reserves, with James Henry being above him in the pecking order. It seems Kelly or even Rosiner would be prefered to Convey.

Convey plays on the left. Henry on the right. HTH.

Exactly.

Convey's our only cover, except for Kebe but he's not a natural left-footer and it'd mean finding someone for our right side to fill his hole.

Kebe regards left wing as his favoured position.

I vividly remember the runs in 05-06, the way he'd tear upfield and angle in from the left, scattering defenders in confusion.

Also the moment of supreme class that he played the first time ball infield from the left that unhinged LIverpool and left Harper running towards the North Stand to round Reina to put us 3-1 up.

Besides the Millwall goal ...

First Reading player to play in World Cup Finals.

Very shrewd passer of the ball. Great football brain going forwards. Shocking liability in own penalty area.

Probably too educated, decent, philosophical to overcome his lack of pace, size, guts to crack it in England - outside playing in an exceptional (106) team.

A ONE SEASON WONDER WINGER ( like David Crown 83/84, Andy Rogers 85/86, Scott Taylor 94/95)

His two goals v Millwall for me. Ran most of the pitch and slotted cooly into the bottom left corner.

I've always felt that Convey should have won goal of the season for his strike against Millwall (it went to Little for his chip at Plymouth) but his goal at Preston was very sweet, too.

Having just watched it again, neither should we forget his beautifully weighted pass that set up Harper for our third at home to Liverpool. Edit; didn't see the post above, sorry :P

I can't help feeling that the Bobster has been home sick for some time and that his heart just isn't in it any more but, whatever happens, it seems almost certain that he's coming to the end of his time here.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear one of those "by mutual consent" announcements about him in the not too distant future..................I wish him all the best for the future with many thanks for some great memories..

The 17 Bus Convey has been so unlucky here, surprised that no one has taken him on loan, needs to play real games IMHO, to get back to full fitness, and become competetive again.

Do Peterborough need a left sided player??

Very good point...why has he not gone out on loan?...surely he can do a good job for another club even if it means stepping down a division just to get his confidence back.

imo shunt is still better than an in form convey

if shunt leaves in january i would like to see bobby get a good chance to nail down a first team place
then coppell should take a view on him at the end of the season

Sprinting, fists pumping, towards Colin at Bramble Lane when we got that last minute penalty at. Warnock's face.

Shame Kits missed.

Not sure Convey could replace SHunt. I know it's a cliche but his tempo is so important to how we play. I don't think COnvey can do that. We are a different side to the 106 team, not sure COnvey fits in.

Since he had his knee injury he has really struggled. Such a shame really as he had fantastic dribbling ability but is just too lightweight.

If Shunt leaves, Convey stays.

I'm pretty sure Coppell won't make the same mistake of releasing all of his winger first teamers (See: Seol, Oster, Little).
If Shunt decides to stay, I can only see Convey leaving or rotting in the reserves/subs bench.
Perhaps a Shunt injury might let Convey in to try again.

As it stands, though: Shunt > Convey

Reading FC Reserve pay > MLS starting pay. But I'd love him to play over here again - maybe similar to what happened with Landon Donovan.
