R.I.P Stewart McEwen

My thoughts are really with his family!

but as it has been said number 13 on sat do your part to show that he will be missed!

What can we do at the game on sat? 1minutes silence or claps? and maybe some banners??

As a father myself this has got to be the worst fear come true for the parents. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Hope the club have a minutes applause before Saturdays game to celebrate his young life.

it would be nice to have a memorial of somekind, something with his name on the club should find something around the stadium to name after him

You would hope that at the very least, the club use the memorial wall. Although I would be expecting something much better really from the club.

Not sure whether a second blue plaque alongside the Maurice Evans one would be an appropriate thing ?

The intention was always that other club figures could have plaques added on that wall.

Not cheap, but probably better than arbitrarily naming something else ?

naming a stand after him could be a possibility but maybe a bit too much to ask

To be honest I think there are other people that it would be more appropriate to name stands after.....

I think the club should be very well represented at the lads funeral whenever that may be..and yes naming a stand after him is very much OTT

WoodleyRoyal tragic tragic storey, what sort of a school takes kids canoeing in the middle of november? its just asking for trouble

They were on a joint Hockey/Rugby tour based at Maiden Erlegh's own outdoor centre. The stretch of water that they were canoeing on was well known to the supervisors and (as per the BBC news clip), generally regarded as being safe.

A horrible, truly tragic accident.

Beat me to it. He had asmatha, which obviously doesn't help.

And don't bother correcting my spelling.
