Handsome Man
S09Royal How did you work all of this out?

Young Royals will never have heard of any of this.
I've supported the club for 4 years now (i know its not that long, but im only 17 and got intrested in football after i was mascot for man utd 3 days before my 13th and soon after went to see Reading play, haven't looked back since.)
and it's unfair someone saying you're NOT a Reading fan unless you've done/seen all that stuff. RUBBISH.

A mascot at 12?

Yes. 20th September 2004.
Man Utd v Liverpool
ended 2-1 to Utd

What part of supporting READINGFC for 4 YEARS didn't you read properly?
Yes, when i was younger i liked watching Utd and i was only mascot for them because i won the chance to be and tbh, who would turn that down?! I should change my name to 'Sarah Royal' then, maybe, you'd give me more respect for being a girl + having a POV too.

I understood your post perfectly, hence making me form the opinion that you are a plastic. Bit of a random rant at the end. Have i been known, in my very short time here, to side with women posters or something? I doubt that much so.

I have nothing more to say. I'm no where near what you classify as 'plastic' tho.

handbags_harris You've seen Reading play at Brentford, Bristol City, and Chesterfield.
You were born in the Royal Berks.
You have a relative that has worked in the Courage Brewery and Prudential.
You saw Michael Gilkes shank a cross into the Tilehurst End.
You know about the Butts Centre and don't relate it to an arsehole.
You saw Trevor Senior or Ron Blackman score.
You can instantly recite the three B's.
You speak with a very reynded accent.

What a Bell-end!

No, the bell ends are those getting wound up by an obvious wind up

That exonerates me then as i'm not wound up. I just think that the thread is pathetic. Simple as that!

You:

a) Support Reading, and
b) Make an effort to go to games, and
c) Will continue to make an effort to go to games even after a relegation, and
d) Even if you can't get to a game, will make an effort to keep track of the result.

It's a fairly simple one really. Any less than all 4 and you're an armchair fan with a passing interest in a team.

You may not feel wound up, but you come across as it, and you've clearly bitten down on a big old hook.

Mr Angry For newer fans then...........

You're not a Reading fan UNLESS:

You liked rumble-stixs
You have never been to the Spread Eagle pub
You know that we have always had Kingsley the Lion as a mascot.
You have seen every MOTD that Reading's highlights were shown.
You have seen Lita score a league goal at The Mad Stad
Prefer Play your cards Right to Mr Woo
You have no idea idea why we used to be called the Biscuitmen

is that better??

i qualify as a reading fan

ha ha peoples reaction to this thread is embarrising!! (a bit like my spelling)

Jeeeeze people can get so wound up. everyone is a reading in their own special unique way and everyone has a tale to tell when it comes to this club. a memory, a place where things always go wrong, all part and parcel of being a royal and thats why we love it.

talking of memorys. Milmoor has to be my place where things always seem to go a bit pete tong.

one visit was 0-0 where the legend that wore #16 made his final league appearence for us.
another was a shocking 5-1 defeat
and the last being a nice cold wet tuesday night after we had just be AP's west sham 2-0 and morale was high. Rotherham if i remember rightl were bottom of the league, they scored a last minute winner, maybe proctor the scorer?? and THEN i got a flat tyre on the way home. oh i love that place!!

No , you seem to be the one getting wound-up. I don't have a beef with you but you seem to be harrassing me for some reason. I think the best thing that you can do is leave it alone. Good night.

To be honest, you are not a proper Reading fan if you haven't shouted GET OUT THE WAAAAY to a bloke climbing a ladder.

 @ those getting wound up by this thread. Presumably those who are getting wound up are the same prats who sing how sh*t must you be, we're winning away and clap EA-SAY as soon as Reading go two goals up.

-you've told someone to sit down infront of you

-you've applauded another teams chant at the Madjeski

-you've participated in the 'diver diver diver' arm movements and also participate in the tom hark dance

...you've complained about every song sung by Reading fans
...you've complained about everyone who doesn't sing every song sung by Reading fans
...you've complained about the grammar/spelling in everyone's posts
...you've complained about everyone who complains about the grammar/spelling in everyone's posts
...you've complained about everyone in the team
...you've complained about everyone who's complained about the team
...you've complained about other Reading fans because they are female /old /young disabled /teenage /in their 20s/30s/40s/50s etc/ are too big/ too small/ too loud /too quiet /wear replica shirts/ don't wear replica shirts
...you've complained about fans who don't go to the matches
...you've complained about people who go to the matches
...you've been insulted by another Reading fan
...you've fallen for someone's fishing exercise

I think that covers what I've seen so far...or is that just HNA?

AlexY25 I would say your a true reading fan if you go to watch READING play.

Because it would therefore make you a fan.

Thats not fair either. We have alot of loyal american followers, who listen to all the games at rediculous times of the night. Try telling them they arnt real fans.

You are a true Reading fan if.......
You went to see your first game in 1990 v Crewe and nearly got beaten up aged 6 for being very rude about Trevor Senior!!
You remember Uri Geller at the Derby game with his random card trick
You remember the Kingsley 'indecent incident' before the 4-0 win v Sunderland under TB1
You stayed way after the final whistle v Norwich at EP and saw the 'entertainment'
You rushed home from Wales to be at the first ever Mad Stad game
You wanted Rovers to score a seventh in that game
You were crushed by seeing Ian Rush play so badly for Wrexham against us.....as he was your idol growing up.
You nearly got killed after the winner in the play-off semi v Wigan as the fans in the rows behind you leapt on you!
You were there when Pardew came back (the first time!)
You were there to see the old Royals players game, but missed the bus parade.
You shouted abuse at Cech and then felt awful when you found out how badly injured he was.
You went to Bramall Lane at the weekend.

Looks like I'm the perfect Royals fan......
