royalexile Marcus and his reaction saves in the first half. PURE, PURE heart and skill from the big man.

To the doubters - feck off.

They were good saves, although the flag was up for offside.

However, would like to see a replay of their first goal as in real time I felt he was twice caught in two minds as the crosses came over - the first from his right to left and then the return cross that led to the goal.

I guess that makes me a doubter!

Royalee
Readingfanman Bikey - Poor
Harper - Poor
Roseinor - Poor
Kebe - Poor
SHunt - Poor

Marcus - Skilled
NHunt - Determined
Matejovsky - Changed things

Coppell - You confuse me. What were the subs about?

We didn't deserve anything out of this match, and this is a reality check. We are a championship team.

Royalee in being right shocker.

Where have you been hiding when we've been winning?

We were shocking today. Simply shocking. Seems we'd started to believe our own hype. Nothing went right today, passes went astray, we were slow, and Southampton simply shocked us. FAir play, their tactics did us, but we helped them no end.

Hahnemann - 6 - did as much as he could I guess.
Rosenior - 4 - shocking passing, got beaten/lost his marker far too often.
Ingi - 4 - our whole defence was clueless to be honest.
Bikey - 3 - so damn casual, I hate it. So many times he underhit passbacks or dawdled on the ball.
Armstrong - 4 - same as Rosey.
Kebe - 4 - with the exception of his goal (which even he couldn't miss) he was terrible, bad crossing and rarely beat his man, instead choosing to fall over.
Cisse - 6 - one player who made tackles and passed the ball.
Harper - 3 - why did he bring off Cisse?!
S. Hunt - 4 - yet more industry with no end product.
Doyle - 5 - see above.
N. Hunt - 4 - see above.

Matejovsky - 6 - passing again good, but ineffectual.
Long - 3 - dire. Just dire.
Gunnar - 3 - what does he add?

Coppell - 3 - Cisse not Harper, Bryn (def. mid.) not Henry (att. mid.) at 2-1 down, Long for N. Hunt, no subs at half time...

Soton gamesmanship - 10 - how Davis didn't get a yellow card is beyond me.

Ref - 8 - good game, not many decisions to make and he got very few wrong. Except the inevitable "anyone within a yard of the keeper and it's a foul".

very poor and very cold. not one player on our team played well today.

hahnemann wasnt bad and could nothing about either goal
rosenior was embarassingly bad. he has been quality this season but today was well off the pace.
armstrong looked ok but his passing was terrible, although good pass to doyle for the goal.
bikey - not good. a couple of quality passes but was way too casual.
ivar - not bad actually. didnt look bad and did the sensible thing of kicking it out of play.
Shunt - terrible. everything that epitomises a quality winger he didnt hve today. passing, skill, creativity, crossing, shooting were all missing.
Kebe - looked our most dangerous player but still pretty rubbish.
Harper - embarassment
Cisse - quiet but good tackling.
Doyle - looked uninterested for most of the game but good play for the goal.
N Hunt - worst performance ive seen from him. won afew headers and chased down the ball but poor passing and no creativity.

subs did ok i thought although pointless bringing gunnar on.

credit to Soton who were quality. best team we have played here by far. quality counter attacking football and over ran us completely. Made us look like a pub team at times.

chilipepper91 Ingi - 4 - our whole defence was clueless to be honest.

Have to disagree.

In 2nd half I thought he was something of a rock to be honest. Hoofing it to safety whenever there danger. Very no nonsense (unlike Bikey!)

Carlos bikey - not good. a couple of quality passes but was way too casual.

Was consistently trying to do the difficult and flashy thing instead of the basic simple, thing. He seems to think he's so good that he can get away with it - but today proved that he can't.

No way Probert deserves 8 for the very point you make about Davis! What the f*ck is the point in Probert continually pointing to his watch but not taking any action whatsoever?! Had he kept stopping his watch like he suggested he was, we would still be watching the game. Blatant cheating allowed to go unpunished by a weak official.

LOL at carlos .
Hahnemann may just as well be sitting in a deck chair !! all he does on crosses is watch the ball go over his head , get the fat yank out !!

We can't grind out results, we are a playoff team at best.
When we play well like burnley and preston we lose, when we play badly we lose. We just don't have the grind like wolves and birmingham do. 5 defeats and 10 points off top. I spoke to a birmingham fan midweek who described us as " the arsenal of the championship, you can't win hard fought matches".
We weren't just bad today..we were diabolical, simply woeful. Passes going astray, arrogance ( why do hunt, kebe and rosenior continually try and run THROUGH players as if they aren't there?), just smacked of an attitude implying we just needed to turn up to win.

Cisse, doyle and marcus all did ok and were our best players, kebe and hunt were astonishingly bad, hunts deliveries are the only thing going for him at the moment, and christ bikeys casualness at the back is worrying.

Really poor today and automatic promotion is slipping away. That said, the other playoff teams are pretty bad so I can see us finishing 3rd.

We were shocking, didnt deserve a thing. Easily the worst with played this season.
Passing was awful at best.
Slow closing down.
No communication.
No tempo, passion, or determination to make things happen.
Stupid mistakes from pretty much everyone.

Credit to Southampton they got at us and we couldnt handle it.

Some of their fans let themselves down big time though, OK celebrate the win by all means, but abusing fans, the town, and spitting from the top of a bus isnt big or clever... should be ashamed.

Lets bounce back, and give Cardiff the backlash.

Very poor peformance.
A shame kebe's first goal had to come under those circumstances.

Deserved win for southampton though.

Kebe scored

Midfield awful

Marek the only midfield player that deserves any praise.

A bad game but still a long way to go this season. Bring on Cardiff.

USA 6 - couldnt really do any more
Rosenior 4- poor
bikey 3- absolute rubbish. too casual and constantly wasted posession
ingi 6- our best defender by a mile
armstrong 4- hardly noticed his contribution
kebe 6 - SCORED YES! apart from that he was ineffective
harper 5- worked hard but produced little
cisse 5- his worst performance for a long time
shunt 5 - wasted a lot of the ball and didnt seem as motovated as usual
nhunt 4- hardly noticed him
doyle 5- worked hard but no final product

marek 5- didnt really make an impact
long 3- constantly gave the ball a way, awful first touch
gunnar 4- not on long enough to change anything

basically the team was a shambles and it was more our bad performance that lost the game than southampton playing well
imo southampton were poor as well

juanpablo
Royal Spangle Marcus made some good saves but at times looked well dodgy  , we need a new keeper. FACT

the double save was one of the best ive ever seen live, but the guy just wont come off his line which doesant help when we are under pressure

As good as those two saves were, he wouldn't have had to make them if he hadn't spilled the initial relatively easy effort in the first place

As for the rest, Ivar was his steady self but the rest were woeful

USA - 7 - Had a good game, but 2 goals conceded.

Rosenior - 3 - Utter rubbish today, very poor.
Bikey - 4 - Worst game i've seen him play
Ingimarsson - 6 - Best defender for once. But still nothing great.
Stretch 4 - Poor game, did nothing really.

Kebe - 5 - Disappointing, but atleast he scored.
Harper - 0 - 0 explains it all
Cisse - 7 - Thought cisse was brilliant first half, good tackles, good in the air, no idea why he came off
S. Hunt - 5 - Mediocre

Doyle - 6 - Put in effort
N.Hunt - 5 - Not good, not bad.

Subs : Gunnarsson - 4 - Did nothing
Long - 6 - thought he did okay when he came on, nothing special.
Marek - 5 - Couldn't do much but looked better than harper.

This is the Soton who, coming in, were in the bottom 3 or 4?

Anyone know what Shane Long offers off the bench?
