Not really great games but memorable for probalby the 3 best goals I'ver seen by a Reading player
1-1 v Bolton 88-89.Bily Whitehurst, inside the centre circle and too knackered or pissed to run, swings a boot at a Steve Francis clearance (Remeniscent of Alan Poulton's own goal for us at Grimsby only with the full weight of 18 stone of Humberside lardarse behind it). Branfoot declares him a genius then sells him 2 days later.
5-2 v Aldershot in the Freight Rover in about 89 or 90. Steve Moran looked like a decent player for once and Trevor Senior scored a goal from about 35yds, wide out on the North Stand touchline, chipping a keeper who was all of 2ft off his line
3-1 v Huddersfield in about 97. Mihaylov's home debut and Jamie Lambert's best ever goal for Reading. Picked the ball up on the left about 10yds outside our area, ran 70yds, cut inside the full back and sent a screamer past Steve Francis into the top corner from 25yds. Adie Williams also scored a cracker, running at the defence, playing a 1-2 and chipping the keeper from the penalty spot.
4 games against Wolves stand out. The first game after Mcghee's departure, the Archie injury time brace, the 3-0 with Quinn's scissor kick and the 4-2 league cup game were special. His time at Wolves always generated a great atmosphere.
