Perhaps the fact that most of the players who have recently left this club for richer pickings have been English isn't lost on RFC......................and remains a big reason why I wouldn't have made life any easier in the football league for greedy home-based prospects................will that do, peasant?

dunne would get in the english squad as would finnan and o shea (even though i'm not his biggest fan), stepehn ireland would be in the england squad along with stepehn reid (if fit), any reid (if fit) and aiden mcgeady, add to that doyle possibly getting in(england seriously lack good strikers at the moment) and the obvious selections of given and keane and i should be rephrasing the question, how many of those in the english squad would get in or even near the irish squad?

I find it strange that Stephen Ireland isn't in the squad or is he not there for disciplinary reasons?

I also find it strange that Shane Long keeps his place too.

Must be short of top strikers in Eire.

Err no. I quite like Richard Dunne but he's been vvank this season and wouldn't get in either. McGeady I've never personally rated but England don't have many left siders, Doyle would need to be in the Premiership but possibly. Given and Robbie Keane would certainly be in the squad and I thinkon current form so would Stephen Ireland after that you're struggling.

As for saying who'd get near the Irish squad? Well half of the players seem to be Championship players or players playing at poor clubs. Thelikes of Mcshane, Folan, Long, Kilbane (who has nealry 100 caps) wouldn't get anywhere near the England squad.

ReadingFlan With the arrival of Jay Tabb does anyone get the feeling that Mr madejski is planning to sell Reading off to some rich paddy to become an Irish franchise. The rugby team is already here. Just a thought..........Discuss peasants x

In the England squad? absolutely not. I was highlighting the selected ones as laughable just like anyone on that squad list barring about 4, 5 tops.

Thaumagurist* Tabb isn't actually 100% an Irishman as he was born in Tooting....!

Tooting? I smell another conspiracy coming on involving Michail Antonio and Shaun Wright-Phillips...

(Full marks to anyone who works out how Wright-Phillips fits in...)
