Pearce motm especially after losing Doobs

The ref who seemed "better than most" in the first half, totally lost the plot in the second

If anybody ever criticise's Marcus's kicking again....they would do well to remember Wales' #1 tonight.....what a joker

Just for the record, it was 22 only minutes before the Wolves fans started having a go at their own players.

Fantastic start to the game, players played the first 15 minutes at a million miles per hour, or so it seemed. Goal was a touch fortunate, possibly question the Wolves goalkeepers positioning and obviously effected his performance, because anyone who thought Marcus can't kick should watch that lads kicking in the first half.

Reading defended well and got forward when they could, I don't get as upset as some by balls played from back to front but their were a few too many of these tonight.

Ref did ok I thought, pretty good in the first half - let a lot of the niggly 50/50 stuff go that a lot of other refs would blow up for. 2nd half he wasn't as good, and had an insane ten minutes when he refused to book a Wovles player for the most cynical foul and shirt pulling I've ever seen, something which makes Kebe red card look all the more harsh.

Ratings -
Feds - 8 - Did everything he had to including dealing with some tricky back passes in the first half, didn't really have a proper save to make.
Kelly - 7 - Did ok for his first start, got caught on the ball in the 2nd half, got caught by the pace of the game.
Doobs - 7 - Usual performance from him, outstanding tackling and heading, and was doing well at the back before he got injured after half an hour and had to be replaced.
Pearce 8 - Very good tonight, kept it tidy did everything well, dealt with everything that was thrown at him.
Armstrong 7 - Not one of his best games but solid at the back
Kebe - 8 - I'm giving him 8 not because his creative play was good, but because he tackled and won a header, I think he'd been told to help Kelly a little more than he does Rosie.
Harper 7 - Did ok, covered the ground, never really got hold of the ball in midfield as has been often the case this season.
Cisse - 7 - Did well considering he had to change positions after half an hour, dealt with most stuff but sliced a few clearances and missed a few headers.
SHunt 8 - Ran his socks off tonight, still felt he could have crossed earlier instead of trying to beat his man on a few occassions, but for effort he couldn't be faulted.
NHunt - 7 - I'd like to think it was his presence near the defender that forced the error for the goal.
Doyle - 7 - Quiet game by his standards, did what he could but wasn't really a strikers game.
SUBS
Bryn - 7 - Filled in well in CM, still looks too slow for me.
Leroy - 7 - Played pretty well I thought, plenty of effort and even had to have his dislocated shoulder popped back in by Jon Fearn
Long - 6 - Sorry I can't remember him doing very much at all.

Combined Teamwork score - 8 or 9 - They all played really well as a unit and worked hard to deny Wolves any real clear cut chances, would have been interesting to see how the game would have been had we not got the early goal.

Man of Match - Neil Collins - I love to see a proffesional footballer score an own goal then swear at the lino and get himself sent off, awesome.

Well done to all the team - a great team effort tonight and a particular well done to the make shift defence which had three changes from normal.

Federici - 7 - untroubled and great distribution again
Armstrong - 7 - usual solid performance
Duberry - 7 was playing well before he was injured
Pearce - 8 - excellent organisation all night - just about MOTM
Kelly - 7 - a bit nervous at times in the first half but grew in stature as the game went on - well done and we did not miss Rosenior after all
Hunt - 5 - it may be me but thought he was poor tonight
Harper- 7 - did well tonight
Cisse - 7 - a few dodgy moments at centre back but he did well to step into the gap when Duberry went off
Kebe - 8 - thought he was very good tonight
N Hunt 8 - ran and ran
Doyle - 8 - as above

Gunnar -5 - did ok
Long - 5 - ok
Lita - 6 - looked lively when he came on

rfc_prem2006 Kebe was decent tonight but my MOM would go to Alex Pearce. He was solid and had Ebanks-Blake in his back pocket all night. Good Work Pearce, deserves to start the next match and i think he will, but Rosenior will definitely come back in.

Give Doyle and Lita upfront a go on Saturday i reckon!

I'll be surprised if Lita is even available on Sat .

True, it cant be as serious as first looked as he managed to play on.

Leroy was great when he first came to us, then obviously the last couple of seasons not so great, but my opinion of him has changed greatly since he's come back from Norwich. Attitude has looked superb. Keep it up. Hope he can at least make the bench Saturday as with his attitude how it is, he will be a better option than Long for the bench.

Just seen the sending off...still think it's harsh.

And Mick McCarthy wasn't watching the same game if his interview on SSN was anything to go by.

He totally lost the plot towards the end of the first half when, despite being just a few yards away from the incident, he failed to give a stonewall penalty when the defender hauled Doyle all over the place and virtually ripped his shirt off!

Adrenalin would have played a big part in his coming back on... once that dies down then he may be out for a few days at the very least. Hunt and Doyle will start on Sat, Long on the bench - Lita rested to ensure he's okay.

What did McCarthy say then?

On the Lita front, no way would I want him in on saturday.
We started at an awesome pace and most of that has to do with NHunt. He was charging around like a madman in the first half, winning the ball and setting up attacks. I think Coppell needs to change him for Lita earlier though as he seems to regularly tire by the hour mark.

MOTM for me is either Kebe who played like it meant something to him for once or Cisse. He ahain was excellent in the first 30mins and fair play for slotting into CB and hardly putting a foot wrong. Also, as a bonafide Harper-hater I have to say I thought he was very good today

No, but his outburst was brief so I dread to think what he said to the lino. If it'd had been the full hair dryer treatment then it would have made more sense. Oh well.

I think the sending off wasn't just for that corner, because just before that incident the lino flagged for a foul throw and i believe he was moaning then too. So i reckon it was a mixture of the two.

I had a look at the Wolves website and they also said, he tried to keep the ball in but it was clearly over the line and when the linesman indicated a corner the Scottish defender reacted angrily aiming some comments at the official.

I could clearly see from where i was sitting that it went out!! So why did he moan so much about it?! Turd.

Well that's the thing - he was sent off for either dissent or foul and abusive language - the lino told the ref, and the ref could still have decided to let it slide with a yellow - so it must have been pretty foul.

"Played well...shouldn't lose to a goal like that...weren't helped by the ref...got beat"

I didn't think they played very well at all.

If any was required, tonight was proof that sh*t happens in this game we love.

Given that by half time we were playing with just one of our first choice back four, every player who took the field tonight did us proud.

It would be easy to pick out one or two who didn't have their best of games but they all stood up and fought to keep the 3pts so generously donated by tonights opponents.

And, if we didn't know before, Pearce and Kelly showed that our youngsters are more than good enough to be this season's squad players. In fact, whilst I'm guessing SC will see things differently, I think Pearce should keep his place as he is the future, already offers no less than Ingimarsson and should only get better the more he plays.

The passage of play that lead to the OG all started from Doyle chasing down yet another lost cause and emerging with the ball.......................we should be thanking our lucky stars for every day that Kev remains at this club.

This result was massive, many thanks to all those who made it possible.

Agreed, for a top of the table side who have scored goals for fun against a makeshift back four, they were very poor.

Row Z Royal Excellent result, decent performance but, most of all, a GREAT game. Considering we've seen some appalling football this season, today's game was a fantastic advert for CCC football. Well done 'ding & Wolves.

.

Bit confused by this, apart from a nice intense atmosphere mostly generated by our fans, the football was poor, really poor.

ditto, poor (but typical) advert for CCC 'football'

You gotta love Championship defending though, why pass it back to the Goalie if you can simply give a thrown-in away.. lost count the amount of times Wolves did this, it really breaks the game up which actually suited us tonight but we wont win back possession so easily in the Prem.

I reckon he said something about the linesmans mum! Look how Zidane reacted with his headbutt.......Lino was tempted by the headbutt but thought nah, i will get him a red card instead...

Pleased with that. Kept the Wolfs pretty quiet going forward, Fed making one save i think. Very makeshift defence was very good.

Fed 6
Armstrong 6
Pearce 8
Doobs 7 (Gunnar 6)
Kelly 6

Hunt 7 -great battling first half quieter in the second
Cisse 7 - great adaption to centre half
Harper 8 - great battling performance
Kebe - 6

Doyle - 6
Hunt - 6

Lita and Long had about 8 mins but did ok, held up the ball and kept possession for us in the dying moments, a combined 6.5
