Royal Lady Pretty rubbish idea all round I'd say. We didn't celebrate American Independence Day on July 4 by having a tea party down at the club car park for a start.

Toon Toon Blue armyAndyRFC What a load of DUMP. Any Englishman should be ashamed to even consider anything to do with being Irish, even for a day.
Why should they be ashamed? Keep politics out of football. St Patricks day is only a bit of fun, jesus.

sheshnu Complaining about St Patrick's day is a bit on the lame side, isn't it? Let the fun folk enjoy it if they want to, there's no need to trot out the same old tripe about St George and Guinness or whatever year after year after year....

Harry Carry THIS IS ENGLAND, Reading FC ISN'T an Irish club. We don't get Iclandic, US, Czech people coming on here trying to make us celebrate their national day, so why should we make exception for the Irish?

This is Reading, we still get Chelsea fans coming on here telling us how to support our club !
And Reading is a town full of people of Irish descent. Personally I'm not going to dress up as a leprechaun but I hope the idea works, if only to annoy the po faced .....

Anyone that isn't Oirish poncing about next Tuesday for the sake of some rancid patron saint should be charged with treason and locked in the tower. Sting 'em up I say; string 'em up!

Harry Carry
Yes, and who was it who killed those British soldiers this week?
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Irish people celebrating their national day. Far from it. I just don't see the need for them to try and ram it down the throats of and ENGLISH football team.
