Archie's penalty
Who said that a United fan could come on here and set the rules? (I am not disguising my hatred of the reds here am I?)
I don't support United.

TheMaraudingDog So in answer to my initial question you are saying that the objective is to stay in existence ?

TheMaraudingDogSealTheMaraudingDog Realistically, you'll only get relegated again and if not in the first season, then definitely in the next couple. You won't see anything you haven't seen already. You won't achieve anything better than you achieved before. You're just waiting to get relegated and hopefully then go back up again ?
So by your logic what's the point of 98% of English football fans supporting their team?
I don't know ?
As i said, don't answer the question by counter questions.
Harry Carry I have to agree with TMD here. There is no real point.
Surely Reading are better off in league one. Better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big one gettin beaten every week. They should cap clubs to which league they can play in. For Reading they should be capped at Championship level.

Arch We're perfectly capable of getting outplayed every week in any league. Might as well be one where we get well paid for it.

Under the current financial model, staying in existence is the best objective that many clubs can hope for. There are alo possibilities of slow growth and/or consolidation, but they are extremely difficult to achive whilst there's an "arms race" of players' wages dragging all costs up.
