I said bollocks to the rumour, because I know it's bollocks seeing as I know Doyle wants to stay here, Rodgers doesn't want to sell his best player and there's been no contact whatsoever from any club.

IMAMATEOFJOVSKY We've got to bring in £11m to "balance the books"

You realise that figure comes from the Evening Post who plucked it out of nowhere? It probably won't be as much as £11m.

Royal Rother
Sarah Star It's a good price... I just can't see anyone being able to plug the gap he'll leave in the team.

Maybe we became too reliant on him - sometimes young players need the star to move on before they can truly step up.

There also might have been a tiny bit of "if Kev's not scoring, how can I be expected to..." in there somewhere.

Selling him's a bit of a drastic way to find out if this is true or not though.

Ahhhh, I see.

I apologies for my needless outburst then

Royal Lady "WE" won't get the £6.5 million - so it doesn't really matter what he goes for, if he goes. We'll not have any money in the kitty to replace him. We'll have to make do with NHunt, Long and Mooney and pray they don't get injured.

RL, Jay has become more articulate and stolen your log in.

RFC will get the money and it will benefit the club. RFC WILL bring in a replacement striker if Doyle goes. Entirely correctly that doesn't involve spending £6.5m.
We're having to "cut our cloth" again - we'll be lucky if Rodgers gets in excess of £1 million to purchase replacements.

thats still more than the we wont be getting ANY of the money that you said!

No, Doyle has said he is happy here, he's settled etc. But you cannot tell me he would turn down Premiership football to remain here. Now it's you talking utter bollocks!

The rumour might well be bollocks but I have to agree with Jay's sentiments.

There's no doubting that a decent Premiership club would be attractive, but like I said he wants to stay at Reading and there has been no contact whatsoever, so this rumour is absolute bollocks - if Wolves had proper money to spend like is being touted here then they wouldn't be signing the likes of Marcus Hahnemann. In any event, the guy's not an idiot like Hunt so he wouldn't go to a team who'll be back down in the Championship next year just for the sake of a few quid and an ego boost as he's clearly a level-headed, likeable guy.

Then again, I don't know why I'm even attempting to put you delirious folk at ease, half of you think we'll struggle to beat Forest and Barnsley and are even worried we won't be in the top half which is rather hilarious.

No, I'm actually quite positive about the club and what we can achieve, I just didn't have any faith in the previous manager, which was justified in the end.

Quite right, I'm very optimistic - as I said I would be prior to the Burnley game if this happened.

I wonder how long your faith in Brendan Rodgers would last....
