Think I'll go to Kettering after work tomorrow. Hopefully a nice sunny day out.

Just had a look at the two squads for these games and found it quite interesting to find Bikey in the reserve team.
Now is that because he is there to give a young squad some expereince.
OR
Is he on his way to a new club and brendon wants him out the way
OR
Is he not in Brendon's plans and he wants pearce and ? at centre back this season. Therfore in the RESERVE squad.

Surely Rodgers will be thinking of the first four games (when Bikey is suspended)
and will be trying to settle a defensive partnership for those games

Fairly clear now what Brendan's preferred team is:
A Fed (Hamer sub)
Ros
Bertrand
Cisse (unless we get mancienne or similar)
Pearce
Harper
Matejovsky
defensive midfielder - Gunn/Karacan/Cork/Tabb
SHunt
Henry or Kebe
Long or Pearce

Would think that Kebe and Henry are first choice wingers rather than SHunt TBH.

Why is Pearce at Centreback and possibly upfront instead of Long?

Lets not forget that Bikey is suspended, Armstrong, Nhunt & Ivar coming back from injuries. That clouds the first choice 11 debate. As does the fact we're pretty certain to bring in more signings.

Well done Ian; I forgot that. When I saw Bikey with the Tooting squad I thought perhaps he's drop-kicked Rodgers in training, or assaulted the new physio. Hence he's in the dog-house. But of course he only kicked some Burnley tw@t. So our best player by far isn't being disciplined internally. (possibly)

You do need SOME experience to blend in with the youth as well. So it makes sense to put a couple of players with the youth and bring a couple or more youth into the senior lot to learn there.

Terminal Boardom There is absolutely NOTHING to say positive about Mitcham these days. I went back there 6 years or so ago and to describe it as a shit hole would be too kind.

A bit harsh me thinks especially as you havent been there for 6 years. .....admitedly it is a small town that doesn't have great deal there, but it is in decent enough nick compared to a lot of london borough towns,,, hardly a shit hole.

I grew up there in the late 60s and it was a really friendly little place. Now it is more akin to Basra. Helmund province in Afghanistan is formally twinned with Pollards Hill. I couldn't get out of Mitcham fast enough.

Any ideas on how much it'll cost to get from Mitcham Junction to Mitcham on the tram?

I'm pretty sure I can blag an u16 ticket and get in for £1 to the Tooting and Mitcham game.

EDIT: Is the tram only one way? If so, what sort of price would a taxi be?

Of course the tram goes both bloody ways!!

It is only one stop from Mitcham Junction to Mitcham so it is minimal fair... no idea how much that is though... Most people bunk it anyway.

I just re-read the website. "The nucleus is a one-way loop through the streets of Croydon town centre". "Town centre" are the words I neglected in that sentence.

Worked out I could get off the train at Wimbledon anyway if I had to had done, and might anyway since it'll make the train journey shorter.

Thanks for your help.

Kettering are a pretty good side, got to the 4th round of the FA cup last season and nearly beat Fulham at home.

Any win would be a good one at this stage.
