TBF Strap he looks a decent 3rd division player. So far, when playing for us, he's looked distinctly average.

Ah we're back to this stage again - player does naff all whilst here - goes on loan and has ONE, I repeat ONE,good performance at a lower level against possibly the worst team at that level too and suddenly he's better than what we have here and should be back in the team.

Excellent stuff.

3 good strikes for the hat-trick.

Henry proved his credentials at Stoke in the league cup last season yet he was never given a chance last season nor this.

Reading' loss.

I just want to see James Henry given a run in our first team. From what I have seen he is certainly not worse than Jimmy Kebe.

If it doesn't work out then fine but at least give the guy a chance!

But then I'd also like to see Jay Tabb get a run in the team and there seems to be no chance of that either

And don't get me started on the idiot decision to get shot of Rosenior and buy Mr Cummings.

Even Millwall's manager said Henry has been struggling with Millwall this season.

Another short sighted Reading fan.
Yes, he did do well against stoke and last season should have been given more opportunities under coppell at the expense of Kebe. However, BR has given opportunities to a lot of younger players this season including Henry and he hasn't delivered. BR has given Henry, Kebe, HRK and Antonio the chance to claim a start on the flanks and Henry hasn't grasped that opportunity. In preseason he wasn't as consistent as the HRK and Kebe, Against Burton Albion he was terrible, against Barnsley he was terrible and in the first couple of appearances off the bench he was terrible. You're forgetting as well that we don't see these guys train and so we cannot have any real basis for saying who should be starting. If he's not pulling his weight in training and performing badly on the pitch when he does play, then there is no complaints as far as I'm concerned about him not starting for us.That's why he's gone out on loan to a team in a lower division. I'm not denying the fact that he does have great potential but if he doesn't show it on the pitch, then why bother playing him.

No it really really doesn't.

Henry had all the chance he needed this summer - a manager coming him who truly rated him, wanted to take him to Chelsea and almost talked Henry up more than any other player. He has simply wasted that chance so far this season so sent on loan to try and prove himself - to date he has done naff all there until yesterday - I repeat naff all. Even Kebe has done more than that.

Millwall fans were frustrated with him, the manager there has said he has struggled and then one game against a Tranmere who are in complete disarray it's a mistake that he's there. It's not.

if he puts in some more performances like yesterday and not fall back again, then we can bring him back at any time and hopefully well - if not he'll stay where he is.

On his day Kebe is five times the player Henry is. McAnuff is streets ahead of him. Henry is no more consistent than Kebe, even at a lower level. He's just got a better eye for goal when he does play well.

It's the same with all those moaning about Rosenior and Lita not still being here, just because they both scored yesterday, despite doing very little else of significance the rest of the season.

You're blind Ian. Kebe's "day" so far has been TWO HALVES in FIFTY first team games. It is totally unacceptable for a supposed senior player.

Henry has been given the odd LC game here and there, plus a few League cameos. On the basis of performances given the minutes on the field, Henry is so far ahead of that plank Kebe it's oxf*rd embarassing!!

I just wish Henry had been given the support and patience of 50 league ganes that Kebe has benefitted from. Just how much has that oxf*rd plank developed in his time in the 1st team?!?!?! He's worse now than when he joined us. He makes Mass Saar look competant!!!

It's oxf*rd obscenen that Kebe is allowed anywhere near a Championship first team. TWO HALVES in FIFTY games Ian - TWO oxf*rd HALVES in fifty games!!!!!

Don't talk rubbish strap. Kebe and Hunt were ripping apart teams in the first half of last season. The guy got something like 11 assists FFS.

I'd agree he's had two good games in 7 now, about what you'd expect from a winger really. The problem is hen he;'s good he's outstanding and when he's not it's because he fecks up all th echances he creates, rather than goes missing.

You can hardly blame him for not pulling up trees against Preston in the second half when the rest of his team were camped around our penalty area panicking.

You may remember we actually performed after half time against Barnsley.

I'm sorry strap you don't half talk some crap at times. I'm no big Kebe fan but at a time when the manager in charge has tried to get rid of a lot of players brought in by the previous regime in favour of new signings or younger players - it says volumes that Henry hasn't be able to dislodge Kebe (or any other winger). This is despite Rodgers making it very, very clear how highly he rated him. He really has f*cked up his big chance at the moment.

He simply hasn't done enough to break in to a side playing poorly. Kebe has been man of the match twice away from home this season and had decent reviews in almost all away games he's played of late - at home he is almost always awful - why I don't know seems to be a mental thing to me.

lol@Henry once again being lauded as the answer to all our problems. He's been shit every single time I've seen him play. Lazy, strolling waster. Needs to sort his act out IMHO.

Last decent game that JH had for us, and indeed Reading last decent 90 performance, was away To Birmingham last season.

As I said previously, JH does have the potential to be another James Lambert.

On the matter of Simon Cox, how many minutes has he played and how many goals has he scored this season?

I would suggest that it's because he gets more space away from home where he usually has just a full back to beat.
At home, he frequently has two defenders watching him. The first defender stays tight on him and it is often the second one that dispossesses him; then he starts playing deep instead of making runs down the wing and is effectively out of the game.
