Southbank Old Boy You miss so much of what actually happens in a game when you only watch it on TV it makes judging a player quite difficult

It does explain a lot of your slight odd opinions though ideal

You miss quite a lot at the stadium too. Pros and cons to both.

Ideal I have no time for your bullshit namecalling, Rasiak's TOTAL LACK OF SKILL makes Shane Long look like Batistuta.
As evidence I provide the following video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2641032525617189763

I know this isn't a thread about Rasiak (!) but you can prove anything with a collection of clips
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5262958904423480784

That is absolutely the worst compilation I have (possibly) ever seen. Tap ins, a penalty and a deflection. It makes Niall Quinn compilations look positively glamourous.

Rasiak actually has a decent goalscoring record at this level for a target man, probably no better or worse than Shane Long.

Ideal
Trosser You've not seen Rasiak play for Reading

You saying so doesn't make it true, and I'm getting real tired of these claims being reiterated all the time.
Call me a geek but I record everything, perhaps I should send you some dvds..

That would be great, thanks. I'm happy to pay the postage. Shall I pm an address to send them to?

Interesting video. Rasiak scores spearhead goals, it seems (so he needs fast, accurate wingers). Also, it looks like he can get a shot off quickly. He certainly did that for us against Watford. I'm not giving up on the idea that he might snap up some goals for us, given the chances.

Probably looking at a less athletic, more predatory Owusu. He'll score a few if we can give him the service. But that's all.

Thomas L'Heureux
Deathy Rather he plays for them than us to be honest.

Valid comment a year or so ago, but compared to what we've got now he's not actually that bad.

Fully agree. Never thought I'd see the day when I was yearning for his return but, compared to the rest of the strike force that Hammond and Madejski have balanced the books with, he's sheer class!!

Long is the worst kind of player to watch: one who can't control the ball. He's at his best coming on as sub when we're ahead or holding out for a draw, because he's fast and hard working. I don't fancy him for chasing a game, which is what we're going to be doing a lot of this year.

If Long is the answer I'm not even going to ask the question.

Rasiak clearly hasn't started well here, but he has by far and away the best proven scoring record in the Championship of all our strikers. We should be criticising the midfield as clearly he's not getting enough service. However I also think that Long should feature when fit, he improved at the end of last season and has bulked up over the summer. Church really should be 4th choice.

Because he's scored two goals? He's looked far superior to a poor Rasiak, who has had one good 20 minute spell in all his games. Church would be much more effective paired with someone else, much the same as Hunt and Long. Of course, the only way that's going to happen is if Rodgers goes or we play that godawful diamond and get battered down the flanks.

The bits you miss on the telly are mainly just the details of incidents and little bits here and there

The stuff you see at the game are much more useful when making an opinion
