Royal Rother Howard's through ball and Rasiak's first touch, control and volley from outside the area for his 3rd goal were world class.

Unfortunately it was meant to be a backpass and he gave Feds no chance. How we ended up losing 8-2 I'll never know.

Hugo Boss
BR2 Sorry but that last bit is nonsense-a little club like Oxford (or even Swindon)could never aspire to playing at the top level.

Erm... I do believe they both managed to get to the top flight some years before we did. :|

There should have been a  by the poster.

Ideal After the match Rodgers says:
"we had the right mentality going into the match, we just didnt capitalize on our one shot on goal"
"the fan was super!"

Cummings was raped all game, federici could have done better with their 3rd and we never looked like scoring other from corners.

Good to see mills got the early consolation goal with another good header to put us 1-0 up first half.

Federici kept us in the game in the first 20 minutes with some fine saves but was woefully out of position for the first goal.

Note the use of the word "first". Things are obviously really bad when we all believe that we are in for a hammering. We are worse, IMHO than under TB2 when we achieved a record run of losses and deserved relegation.

In a way it might do us a favour to get a thrashing because it will hasten the exit of the manager and ultimately the arrival of someone who actually has a clue about the game.

Back from the game for real (I live in West London)

Good start with Rodgers reverting to a basic 4-4-2, with plenty of experience throughout. Fullbacks O'Dea and Tabb didn't inspire confidence but no-one put much of a foot wrong in the first 30 minutes - I thought we might see out the game 0-0 because we weren't doing much up front.

Then it all starts to go a bit crazy. Watson takes a quick free kick for Rangers on the edge of the box, oops too quick the ref hedn't blown. Bizarrely the ref decides to book Watson for this (I cannot recall this offence ever resulting in a booking before). I think the ref realises too late he's already booked Watson - but too late he has to go. SO Rangers are down to 10 men, Ref then lets them retake the kick and Buzsacky sticks it, bollocks.

As we've seen many times before this season Reading's composure goes to pieces once we concede and we ship another one with Federici and Mills leaving it to each other at the back post.

Half time comes and, playing against 10 men Rodgers does the positive thing and switches to 3-5-2, bringing on Howard and Gylfi as attacking midfielders. Great stuff however directly from kick off Ingi commits a foul, the ref has been itching to even things up ever since the Watson red card and wastes no opportunity in despatching Ingi.

THis is a complete disaster for Reading as our formation is now shot to pieces with 2 subs used and only 2 defenders on the pitch. Gunnarson drops back to centre half but the wide open spaces and lack of fullbacks mean Rangers can sit back and play on the break, scoring 2 more and could have been more. A late Howard effort doesn't come close to papering over the cracks.

So all in all a bizarre set of circumstances, hard to place much blame on Rodgers in my opinion for this particular result.

Focher After taking an early lead and controlling the game, we gave a silly goal away from a set piece and we seemed devoid of ideas after that.

At the end of the day lets face it 4-1 flattered us.

Very close!

Interesting post. So it's mostly the fault of the referee then?

Was it the ref's fault we didn't get a single shot on target in the first half?

I'd still give Rodgers some more games though.

Started well - ball flashing about their goal, albeit without many clear cut chances.

Fell to pieces after the goal.

All over the place following Ivar's sending off. We started to look a bit more positive after their third - lots of direct and skilful running from Kebe - but it was all a bit too late.

McAnuff looked good at the start, Kebe at the end. You can call me Hal looked pretty good too. Bryn and Howard both put their foot in and weren't disgraced. The rest of them were pretty hopeless, with Long probably the shittest.

No - we didn't play well at all, but Rodgers did what most wanted on here by going 4-4-2 and dropping Cummings. The second half blew any tactical input to pieces because Ingi got sent off straight after the big tactical change, leaving us completely exposed. We were pretty crap for the end of the first half when it was 11 v 10 though.

It was indeed bizarre but we were pretty poor against an side that are coming into form.
The sending off was crazy and not only resulted in the goal but probably spurred Rangers on out of a sense of injustice.
Second goal was slack & from then on it's uphill all the way.

Half time slanging match in the lower tier was fun to watch [Schards sitting quietly right next to it all]
We went even more clueless after Ivar's red. Rangers played like we used to play - remember the days of fast counter attacks and passes strung together?

No signs of improvement as far as I could see compounded by players out of position.

Fed 5
Kebe 5
Everyone else 4

I am safely back In East Berks away from that West London Shitehole!

The game where do I start
11-11 we actualy played OK considering the lack of an established fulll back.
Tabb and Odear coped!

Sending off very harsh I thought when a word would have sufficed.

Free Kick AF caught out of position beaten on the near post. 0-1

Good move by the fake hoops some how one of their little forwards managed to score through Mills (I think) and AF leaving it for each other 0-2

Totally out played by 10 men, Kebe kept falling over

Second half team talk by Brenda " Whatever you do don't give the ref a chance to send one of you off"
10 seconds after the start Ingi tripped one of their players AAARRRGH!

They scored 2 up the other end and could have scored loads more.

The rest was Rubbish until the last 5 minutes when they gave up having won comfortably and we scored one, could have even scored another.

Howard and Robson Kanu? looked interested the rest DROSS!

Funny thing is we looked better when 11vs 11 and 10 vs 10

The manager looks clueless and has to go NOW
