But then Paul Merson has also said

It was a heavy balloon, not one of those light ones

People just looked lost. Too many players looked like fish on trees.

He is a bad pundit - because he can't express himself properly but he does talk sense if you can translate in your head... - agreed though, there must be better....

The fish on trees comment I quite like!

He is right though. For all the doom, gloom on here, and the pain that comes from looking at the table, we do try and pass the ball and an Arsenal player would fit in well at RFC...

Did he also not follow it up with "But you need to be winning games otherwise you'll never get the confidence"?

I couldn't work out if it was a compliment or a back handed dig.

Right now, we could do with Ted Drake.

Chances of Bendtner being interested in joining Reading?

Zero.

Chances of us stumping up even 50% of his weekly wage?

Even less.

Does Merson still play at all?

Must admit chuckling to myself reading all those who suggested that a man on the fringes of the Arsenal first team, who frequently features in the Premiership and the Champions League, might come to Reading.

Tony Le Mesmer I dont want Reading to become a feeder club thank you very much.

Yes, I would rather go down than enjoy watching some of top young players in the country plying their trade at RFC

Merson is, without doubt, the worst pundit.

However, in the case of both these comments he's spot on.

The beach ball concerned at The SoL was, indeed, of the more robust variety. As for describing something lost, like a fish out of water, the tree analogy is actually a pretty good one.

It'd be the next generation coming through - the Wilshires, Meridas and Velas, the guy who started his first game last night.

There's a couple of clubs that have decent crops of youth players - Arsenal and Villa would be ideal clubs to approach, imo.

not sure that Rodgers would go to Arsenal for help ...his Chelsea bloodline would be irretrievably damaged if he did!
