Obviously since BR has left there has been a massive reduction in the amount of hot air coming out of the Mad Stad, with only Squeaky and Scrooge producing the required temperatures. This reduction in the heat has left the whole Berkshire area susceptible to freezing temperatures that would usually be associated with Iceland (not Waitrose)! Therefore I conclude that the entire blame should be placed on...............

......Gunnar Thorvaldsson (Booooooo!), who has plainly brought the weather with him!

I think it is a lack of foresight from them all.

Also, where is the global warming option?

The whole Global Warming brigade is to blame. The government, the scientists, the wind farm developers, the carbon traders and the BBC. All of them are ripping us off big time. Presumably Reading Borough Council believed all this shite to the point where they felt it was no longer necessary to keep adequate supplies of grit and salt.

Wha................?

I blame the council. Certainly they had to concentrate on the main roads, but they could have done a bit more, couldn't they?

Jeff Jeff Jeff.....just because it hasn't happened overnight like in The Day After Tomorrow doesn't mean that Global Warming isn't slowly melting the polar ice caps and that we're not all doomed.

I think you'll actually find it's called climate change, and the increased melting of polar icecaps means a lower salt content in sea water, which means it is less able to produce the necessary currents from the Gulf of Mexico which keeps us a temperate Island despite our northerly position.

How the feck should I know when the BBC can't predict if it's raining by looking out the window? And does it matter whether we get boiled or frozen, the result is the same.

All I know is that weather looks to be getting more extreme and nothing is looking good right now.

...some of us "old sages" can remember when extreme meant extreme sonny

Seriously, the game is off, what the hell.........but in the days of pre-under-soil heating and poorer public transport....many more games would've gone ahead tomorrow (the lines would've been dug out, the ball painted orange and the game was on)
