Our old friend Lawro, during the commentary on Five Live the other night, described Sigurdsson as "having no radar".Surely he was being blinkered in having to contemplate the shortcomings of Liverpool to fully appreciate the talents of the most gifted player to come through the ranks at RFC for years.

Interesting comment to make, he had two opportunities on goal I recall. Both on target. Also his set-piece deliveries were all spot on. Can't remember the quality of his passing, but he usually only passes short anyway.

he doesnt have radar though

he uses echo location like a bat

except maybe for the 2 or 3 he hit too long and straight out of play.......I would guess it was after one of those that Lawrenson made his comment.

One thing that slightly disappointed me about Sig (I bloody love him though) was when he took the freekick that was saved, it was obvious that either the goalie had done his homework on Sig's freekicks or had just positioned himself perfectly.

He stood slightly closer to his near post even though that's what the wall was supposed to be covering. Sig still went for the fairly placed shot down into the near bottom corner, which meant the goalie had an easy save.

It's where Sig has put it from those positions every time I've seen him take one. I'd have liked to see him change his mind and put in a cross to the far post, or go for the far post instead - because of the keeper's positioning.

It's like that's the freekick he takes regardless of what the keeper does to defend it.

Gunnarsson was the one I saw who was generally putting set pieces out of play.

^ That's what I thought.

The Sig, didn't take all of the set pieces.

Gunnarsson took a couple near the end of the second period of extra time, but from what I remember he didn't take any before that. Sigurdsson took all the attacking ones until Howard came on. (BBC live text backs up what I thought).

I should say, he's definitely right-footed. He takes set pieces with his right foot but even more telling is the fact that he always checks back onto his right foot when playing on the left.

One player I really couldn't figure out which foot they favoured was Tony Rougier.

Talking of Tony Rougier, I used to work with someone who stalked him. As in properly stalked him. He used to call him up every day and ask him what he was doing/what his favourite colour was/what he was wearing etc.

Unfortunately, I think Tony's love of our Lord Jesus Christ meant that he felt unable to tell him to bugger off.

It will come as no suprise that he was once a regular poster on here.

He was the bloke who ran his megaweb page for him and looked a bit like Leo Sayer? It wasn't actually him I was talking about, but it's a good call.

If I had as many stalkers as Rougier I'd have started a cult.

Negative_Jeff Sigurdsson can play ... behind a loan striker

Hmmmm, you are talking about Thordvalsson, aren't you?

That's where he played for the academy a lot of the time.
