2 world wars, 1 world cup If true I am disillusioned beyond belief and am speechless.

The way I'm feeling right now I'm shocked and extremely upset if true and for the first time in 28 years I'm not sure I will be able to bring myself to see my beloved home town play again this season if true.

Emotional 6 pint rubbish.

No offence - but to expect/want any other outcome than McDermott being appointed until the end of the season given that there is barely a week of the transfer window left for any new boss to bring in his own players and with the club pleading poverty anyway.....well, you were deluded.

With McDermott we have a man who has been at the club for nearly a decade and given us good service. Unlike his predecessor, he doesn't have his head in the clouds and tactically he has been decent. The result and performance at Plymouth was absolute garbage, but generally the team seem to have developed a bit of character under his charge, as evidenced by late and important goals against Bristol City, Liverpool and Burnley. Whether we have the quality to go with that character remains to be seen. Good luck Brian.

You rubbish my emotions all you want mate. Very sensitive of you, well done mate.

I don't drink alcohol and I am actually feeling very low.

For some of us following Reading runs very deep indeed, sad as that may be.

Thanks for your support.

FiNeRaIn League form has been awful under BM so not sure why there are so many " i'd be happy with this" comments.

Jesus wept, he's had four league games, three of which have been away.

He's also had three cup games which have arguably been three of our best performances of the season.

The mistake was appointing the clueless Rodgers, with him paid off and all the money spent, a manager who the players seem to respond to and seems to have some common sense about him is about as much as we can hope for. It's damage limitation.

Only one poor result under BM, and he didn't think any of our play was "outstanding," he was furious and got a reaction.

The positives are a more organised defence, the ability to change the game through substitutions and formation changes, a new found belief and none of the utter bollox in the media from Rodgers.

The negatives are lack of track record. Given the Curbishley and the like we're never going to come here in a month of Sundays, I'd say BM's the best choice.

West Brom home - winnable. Safety - more probable than merely possible. Griffin and Thorvaldsson good additions. Mills playing. Sig on fire.

Come on, cheer up; the cup is begining to look three quarters full, so why fixate on the quarter that's empty?

FA Cup success has little to do with BM. Any fool can be sparked up for a big Prem match as major underdogs.

As for my delusion - sadly you're right. Touche. :(

That's what I'm upset about.

Yeah right.

You are generally extremely articulate but using "if true" 3 times in the space of 2 sentences suggests you are under the influence of something other than gloom!

I think that you have to credit McD a little with the Liverpool result(s); playing Cisse and Karacan simply to nulify Liverpool's midfield creativity was a good call, I suspect that McD's predecessor might have set us up to try and beat them at a passing game :| .

Shame you're so low about it. You've been around for a while so League One should hold no fears for you and we're having fun in the cup. Personally, I've already enjoyed the first 24 days of 2010 RFC-wise than I did the entirity of 2009.

A good deal of damage has already been done so get behind McD and pray that we can stitch some results together in the league.

Yes, very good. The subtle difference of course being that McD has 30 years experience in playing (at the highest level) and coaching.

Makes no difference, Ferguson, Wenger and Mourinho weren't experienced at the top level ( in some cases none at all) and they were/are the best managers the prem has ever seen.

I am OK with this.

There are signs we are finally picking up at home - undefeated with McD in charge including 2 prem sides and play off team on form.

I can see us kicking on after Tues - at least we cannot get further behind before the difficult run of league games ends with Scunny and SW playing each other.

On balance what else could be done? other decent, affordable, interested candidates were no longer available and BM has steadied the ship, INDEPENDENT observers are saying that the players seem to be responding and raising their game's for him.

Like it or not money is a reality and the club should not be hostage to fortune, which is what happens when a club overstretches itself and finishes up both useless and broke.

The reality is BR had his chance and blew it, BM is here and now, now voracious support is essential, at least until he ferks up right royally and maybe, just maybe he will succeed.

How about we do 'our bit' as we did for BR until unlike him, we saw the writing on the wall?
