We are a relegation threatened side, Notts Forest and Sheff Utd are promotion chasing sides. Relegation threatened sides don't generally get results at promotion challanging sides.
It's all about the next 6-7 games. Less than ten points and were f**ked, we are not f**ked as a result of losing tonight.
Exactly.
Although it was sad to lose our unbeaten record at Brammall Lane over the last few years.
+1
Just need to look to the next game and look to win it. Were we likely to lose to Nottingham Forest YES were we likely to lose to sheffield united YES. For me nothing has changed. In fact we have created more clear chances in the last three games (Forest, Burnley and Sheff United) then we have in any 3 games over the last 2 and half years. I would be far more worried if we played like we did in the first half against Forest.
What is a concern is we a) can't seem to put these chances away and b) dont seem to create anything until we give the opposition at least a one goal lead or have an injustice (i.e. Burnley). While this if it is not sorted quickly is almost definatly going to take us down we at least have something to be positive about.
However I do think we need to get both Howard and Tabb in and around the starting 11 (definatly at the expence of Cisse. Is that the second game in a row he has been subbed at half time while we are two down?) The reason for this is they have both recently been involved with relegation battles in this division and their experience could be invaluable (along with Griffin).
We also need to stop chopping and oxf*rd changing the bloody strike force, have any of them started 3 games in a row? It is becoming a joke.
Finally Mr. Mad need to make a decision regarding the manager, if not this week then straight after the Barnsley game. It is helping no one, not Brian, not the players, not a potential new manager who is going to have less and less time to sort out this mess, not the fans... A very good buisness man should know unstability and the unknown is not good in any buisness.
We need to get every advantage possible to get out of this mess and by Mr.Mad messing around with the manager, Brian changing 3 players every game, and claiming we need experience and playing players like cisse (who has played one and a half years at this level) over howard and tabb etc is just stupid.
We (the fans) need to get behind the team, am i annoyed at the situation, yes, would i have done it differently, yes. But as a fan i would do whatever it took to help the team and i can safely say (having spoken to a few of the players/ staff) been shouted at when a pass goes astray, a groan when shot goes over and been booed if we are not winning at half time does not help the players at all. Sure at some point something needs to be done but it is not going to be done overnight or tbh midseason with this regime (who are unlikely to go anywhere), we are still in a position where we could 'easily' get out of trouble as sheff wed have shown. The end of the season is the time to let the board know how let down you felt, don't buy a season ticket/ ticket, chant for the board to be sack, tell them they arent fit to wear the shirt whatever but while we have a fighting chance of staying up we should fight and we should fight together. That is all.
