Just like the old days. A strong attacking display, never giving the opposition any peace, great wing play and goals galore.

Fed - Good distribution. 6.5
Griffin - Was able to show his attacking side a bit more and supported Kebe well. 7
Bertrand - Same as Griffin. 7
Gary - Solid against Wednesday's blunt attack. 6
Ingi - Not a lot to do. 6

Tabb -Does a lot that goes unnoticed. Everywhere.7.5
Sig - Struggled with set pieces seemed out of sorts probably due to recent injury problems.7
Kebe - Two goals an assist.9 MOM
Howard - Robust play in the centre of the midfield bad dead ball play.7.5

Rasiak - Won everything in the air took his goals well best game in a Royals shirt.8
Church - Swarmed around the Wednesday defence forcing them into errors and scored an outstanding goal.8

Kanu - Falls to pieces as soon as he gets anywhere near the goal and lacks awareness of where his teammates are.5
Henry - Still an enigma. Struggled to make an impact with the game dead and buried. Could have scored a goal if Kanu's cross to him had been better. poor on the ball. 5.5
Matejovsky - Not enough time for him and his enhanced wavelength to make an impact.

Rasiak seems to really divide opinion on here - 'two tap ins' as if that was a bad thing; you got to be in position to get two tap ins and he did that, so hat off to him. Also, really worked hard - won lots in the air and often made sure the ball was passed onto one of his team. Best performance of the season for him. Anyone see what it said on his shirt?

Was he running around with a gum shield in after his change of shirt?

My view on the game

1st half the players were looking like they played 120 mins midweek. After the 2nd goal the team seemed to come out with more confidence/energy...
Deserved victory ...
Ref was shit I thought if you went in leading with the elbow it was at least a yellow however Clarke seemed to get away with doing it 3 times.

tomrfcurz Player ratings:

Federici - 7, Give him a fairly high score as he kept a clean sheet but nothing to do, distribution great
Griffin - 8, Great work from him again and caused a bit of trouble in the Sheff Wed defense too, not much to do defensively
Bertrand - 9, pretty much faultless
Khizanishvili - 8, Another defensive eight here, did well coming forward to and won every header
Ingimarsson - 7, Not noticeable NOT NOTICEABLE are you blind?........poor assesssment of a players whose future contract needs to be revued by the moneymen regardless of the sh1te "Club Policy"
Tabb - 7, Hard working but felt some of his tackles could have been better but going forward was fairly good
Sigurdsson - 7, First half set pieces awful and went down hill after his 'injury' but was solid
Kebe - 8, My MOTM and great finish for his second goal, tad lucky for his first but was on fire down the wing in 2nd half
Howard, 7 - Did well today and was very physical as always but set pieces in the first half especially, awful
Rasiak, 7 - Took the goals well but did nothing else much WHAT THE F!!CK ARE YOU ON? scored two and set-up one.... won virtually every aerial battle...............his best performance in a Reading Shirt....appears to love the club too
Church, 8 - Superb goal from him and fought for every ball throughout the game

HRK 5 - made himself a misery for the Sheff Wed defence.........greedy in the box...shot when a simple pass would've made goal #6 (and equal with Ipswich in the league).

Henry 6

Look at the size of his belly button. It's rather big.

Fed - 7 - the little he had to do he did well enough
Griffin - 7 - not quite as good as he has been, but solid
Ivar - 7 - competent
Zubar - 8 - held it all together at the back IMHO
Kebe - 9 - the boy's a fooking genius. 10 if he'd got a hat-trick
Tabb - 8 - like Sidwell, you don't notice a lot of the good stuff he does
Howard - 6 - fine
Sigurdsson - 6 - deliveries usually overhit and didn't influence the game as muc as he might have liked
Church - 8 - not the finished article by any means but he works hard and scored a cracker
Rasiak - 7 - didn't get massively involved but scored twice and gives us something extra in the air

Don't usually do r8tings so happy to be argued out of any of these.

Jimmy is a love vote btw

'greed. Felt sorry for TGTIJK when McDermott subbed him within a minute of scoring his second - would have loved him to score a hat-trick.

Meh, most football fans are c**nts including readings. It was good banter IMO, added extra laughs to the day.

Great display all round. Best game at home since the Coppell glory days. I even clapped Kebe off when he was subbed.

As the the whole of the home support - standing ovations for TGTIJK and Gylfi when they went off.

John Madejski's Wallet Wednesday couldn't handle Church's pace

They handled it brilliantly I thought, he had a couple of one on one chances and the defenders outpaced him and pushed him out wide every time. Even with the goal he scored I don't know how he didn't sail through and score, looked like the danger was over after the defender got back and got in front of him. Church never looks like he's going to score to be honest.

I thought the 1st half was really good, considering we played 120 mins in mid week.
We should have at least been 1-0 up within the first 20 mins if we had taken our chances.
2nd half, we were all over them but then faded the last 25-20 mins and they came back into it.
