May have been mentioned already, but Colin Kazim-Richards goal from about 25 yards out against us when we beat Brighton 5-1 at home in 05/06 season.

EDIT: Mags already said, but its one that stuck in my mind.

Mascherano's leveller at Anfield would have been rated better if not for being in the shadow of Marek's spectacular opener.

RoyalBird I remember recalling a Preston player (can't remember who) scoring with a great shot when we beat them at home 5-1. Anyone else recall it? Think it was in the 2002/3 season, nearly all of the reading fans applauded it.

I applauded that, very good strike.

As did I. Think it was Dickson Etuhu.

First goal in the 0-5 defeat at Millwall 1999. Classic Michael Gilkes.

Seem to remember Richie Partridge scoring an absolute beleter away at Coventry in 2003.

Dug out the report from the archives.

The victory was sealed for the home side not long into the second half when the pacey Partridge doubled the lead with a superb solo goal for Coventry. After getting hold of the ball inside his own half he went on a run straight for goal twisting past a series of Reading players with apparent ease before burying the ball into the back of the net to make it 0-2.

Jackson Corner Alex Mathie for York in the FA cup to level up at 2-2 after we had been 2-0 up.

Yeah that flitted through my mind when I read this thread too. Underside of the bar IIRC.

That Tyrone Mears goal for Preston was a real balls up from Marcus. Easy to applaud it as we were so far ahead at the time.

Richie Partridge - I remember chatting about him with Pardew many moons ago and saying how Pards should try and get him in on loan. Pards agreed he was worth a look then he went to Cov and scored that cracker. PLayer of the season for them that year then never lived up to expectation afterwards.

Andrew Johnson has scored a few good penalties against Reading. He won them really well, with plenty of pace and trickery...

A Gavin Johnson 30 yard freekick for Colchester, we lost 1-0 at home in the 2000-2001 season

Tyrone Mears 100% m8

Dickson Etuhu looked really good in that game though

Partridge goal against us was superb

Dickson Etuhu makes Carlton Palmer look cultured so I'd have doubted it was him.

It wasn't Etuhu who scored, but that night he put in a bloody good shift. I remember coming away from the ground thinking we should sign him.

The last Palace goal by Victor Moses at our place was the best I've seen against us this season.

One sticks in the memory from 1999 - a long-range strike from the Wigan right-back in a 1-1 draw at the JJB. Think his name was Carl Bradshaw.

Yeah I agree BFers - he looked too good for the level in all honesty. Thought he might go on to better things but again has hardly set the world alight.

The Partirdge goal away at Coventry was pretty special. Last I heard he was at Chester having been ruined by injury.

Funny how in 20 years of watching Reading, I can hardly remember any goals we have let in, yet the 1st I saw at home to Walsall opening game of the 89/90 season I can remember clear as day...

Edit.

Totally forgot about Peter Hoekstra's hat trick for Stoke against us at the Brit years ago. Don't think we saw Murts for a few months after that day.

Gonna pluck another name out of the air, but Chris Kinett (no idea if the is the correct spelling), left winger, possibley French, playing for Milwall against us when Pards was in charge a few times, seem to remember him scoring a cracker cutting in from the left.

Christophe Kinet, defo a Millwall player although I don't remember the goal you're talking about.

Hoekstra scored a cracker in his hatrick didn't he?
