Not really popular with the Scunny fans though. They say he can't tackle and defend.

strap I have to say I am becoming more and more impressed by BMcD with every passing week.

Within days of the season ending, and knowing the LB spot was problematical due to injury etc, BANG, he goes out and fills that gap without so much as a hint in the press. Whether Williams goes on to become Cummings MkII or Bertrand MkII is for the time being immaterial. BMcD was aware of the situation, and put something in place to sort it. What a pleasant change to the previous encumbants antics in the transfer market.

If this goes on much longer, the fear is not whether we can hang onto Siggurdsson et al, it will be far more "can we hang onto McD"!

'greed! In the past we have seemed too casual in bringing people in, or like last summer, told the world who we want and then fail to get them. This is good business, he acted quick to get his man, and I hope there's a few more positive signings to come.

Already getting the bug for next season. McDermott has put the fizz back inside me.

Focher An attacking full back that has never scored :|

but surely the role of an attacking full back isn't to score..............whats his assist rate like??!

in 198 appearances you would expect an attacking full back to stick a few away. Anyway, not criticising looks like our type of player

How many did Murty score?.........everyone loved him :D

That's unlike football supporters to be fickle.

Judging by previous comments from Scunny fans, he's a decent player that has improved vastly over the season. He has pace, is a good attacking left back that needs to work on his defensive game, and that will come under McDermott and Gibbs' coaching. He's young and free. This is good business.

Needs arms like that to support the weight of his watch.

I bought one like that for 30 Euros on the Costa del sol.

Now he's signed he could probably afford a nice Timex

"Williams has had an excellent season, and has got better every year he has played in the first team. He has pace, is good going forward, the defensive part of his game is improving all the time and he's still relatively young. He'll not be as big a loss as the likes of Hayes and Hooper for obvious reasons in that they score all the goals and get the plaudits, but I, for one, think we'll miss Marcus Williams next season."

The defence does contain another 3 players, plus the goalkeeper.

Doesn't mean they are all poor players.

This isn't a rushed signing - McD has been watching him for years........

As he's 24 and Scunny offered him a deal, will this need to go through a tribunal to decide if we must pay a fee?

Bertrand was part of the Norwich team that leaked 70 goals the season they were relegated......its not just down to one player, there are 10 others that count
