SpaceCruiser Can't see the image. I was actually thinking of doing something like that! Did it include cups?

Just league finishes (the image is from Imageshack)

Thinking about it, probably not surprising that we're a top half tier 3 club, considering that out of the 19 seasons that we've spent in the top two divisions, we've only had 9 seasons where we'd finished above 13th place in the second tier. So perhaps we still need a few more seasons of second tier top half finishes before we can be considered a proper second tier team?

I think he means that we're a go forward club, rather than huge, although bigger than Scunny.
Scunny have little chance of making the playoffs next season, more likely a relegation struggle.
Reading must be one of the favourites for promotion, so he's got a point playing for a club with ambition.
Funny to say that now after the first half of this last season, but that's another story again.

I'd say an all time league table doesn't tell the full story. Size =/= history. It's down to a mix of history, recent success, stadium, infrastructure and fan base. In the table above, the likes of Luton, Barnsley, Oldhma, Grimsby, Bury, Plymouth and Brighton are above us. Based upon what's happened in the last 10 years, LOL at anybody who thinks they're bigger than us. Equally I don't agree that we're bigger than Wigan; they've been in the Premiership for the past 5 years.

I'd say we're definitely one of the 40 biggest clubs in the country now though and certainly a step up from Scunthorpe.

No one said it did. It is exactly what it says it is - an all time league table. The word "size" was never used.

Wigan haven't been in the league as long as we have, so I'm disagreeing with your comment. Wimbledon were also in the top flight, but they haven't been in the league as long as we have, would you say that they're bigger than us?

Agree with Wycombe about the table, but if you were to throw in the cups as well, it would be a good gauge of a successful club.

ZacNaloen We aren't that big a club though, our brand outside of the UK must be relatively tiny.

Tiny yes, but my wife found (and purchased) a set of RFC stacking dolls in Prague. :o But outside the UK, there are quite a few "big clubs" that have little awareness.

I bought the same ones in Prague as well. Ha ha. Doyle, Harper, Ingi, USA & Hunt......all gone now mind you.

I was amazed when I saw them - had to be purchased even though the quality left a lot to be desired!

Puts us in pretty much the same place!

I saw the RFC Russian dolls in Prague too. Featuring Shaun Goater. Quality.

Proof that we've been massive for years.

With all those past figures from league finishes and the attendances on the QPR forum, surely somebody could make a (subjective) league table of clubs in terms of size. My weighting would be:

25% - Current league position and success over the past 10 years. Scoring system for cup competitions and Europe.

25% - Attendances for the past 5 years.

20% - All time trophies won.

15% - All time attendance list

15% - All time points list.

Sound good? Where would we come based on that?

Historically we are a small club that could be argued to have underachieved for it's location.

Currently we are a newly established medium club slowly cementing that position.

Agreed. Will post pictures tonight. Similar "line up" but mine has Lita and Shorey in the team intead of Ingi and Hunt. But hey, it's the 2006 promotion squad so a collector's item right?

For all those that haven't been to Scunthorpe............Wycombe would seem like a big club!
