Silver Fox
Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Well Hull fans seem to have nothing but praise for the guy.

But that won't suit peoples argument.

Indeed, this thread is excellent as it includes two of my favourite things about this board, obsessive h8ing of former players and inside knowledge of all transfer dealings the club has been involved with. If only someone could somehow link it to being a better fan than someone else it would thread of the year

With the bonus of a classic Spacey interjection based on his own unique view of the world.

They're not even late with a payment, so how could we?

So how come you know the payment terms of the Hunt sale?

I know that they're up-to-date with their payments as of last season, and as "football's financial year" runds from 1st July - 30th June it's unlikely that any second payment year payments are due yet. And when their auditor refused to sign-off their account last year he spoke of a "financial black hole if they were relegated" - that suggested trouble ahead, rather than current trouble.

Are they technically entitled to sell Hunt then ?

If you have car on HP and sell it on before you've completed the payments I believe you can get in a lot of trouble.

Presumably football, as ever, makes up it's own rules.

Yes, the terms of contract insist that the buying club have full control over a player (q.v. Tevez at West Ham). The schedule of payments is quite another thing - a legal agreement between clubs, rather than part of the players' contract.

BTW, I met the Doncaster chairman at a football dinner a few weeks ago. He was not particularly happy about the Matt Mills transfer, and particularly with the the guy at Donny who did the deal. He wanted a lump sum from us that could be spent on players there and then, but we were so successful in our negotiations that we managed to get the payments spread out over a number of years.

Shush...next you'll be trying to convince some of us that Hammond is doing an ok job.
